A pleasant hotel to stay, centrally located for exploring Umbria and Tuscany. Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms clean although the cleaning product used is a bit smelly. Good breakfast. Would stay there again

This was such a tranquil & beautiful place. The staff were friendly & very accommodating. The rooms comfortable & well appointed. The food, mostly produced in house was divine! After the hustle & bustle of Firenze it was a god send!

We chose the solitude of this spot to visit Assisi. Very happy with the choice and another town, Santa Maria degli Angeli was even closer. Room was good, staff very nice and hotel was well presented. Grounds could do with a mow!!!

I was very, very impressed with absolutely everything at the hotel - the view, the room, the food, the service, the amenities. The staff and their service was also excellent. I have already recommended to my friends and would definitely stay again.

For most visitors to Viole, the best area to stay is within the historic walled town itself. This offers the most convenient and authentic experience of the area.
The historic walled town of Viole is compact and easily explored on foot. Its narrow, cobbled streets wind around ancient buildings, often leading to charming piazzas. The main square, Piazza del Popolo, is a central point, surrounded by cafes and local shops. From here, you can easily access the main sights like the Duomo and the Rocca Maggiore.
Couples will find the historic centre particularly appealing for a romantic getaway. The evenings here are quiet and atmospheric, superb for strolls after dinner at one of the many excellent trattorias. Many hotels in this area are housed in beautifully restored historic buildings, offering a unique stay.
For those looking for a more secluded experience with stunning views, staying just outside the walled town in the immediate countryside can be an excellent option. These accommodations often offer larger properties, sometimes with pools, and are superb for those who appreciate peace and quiet while still being a short drive or pleasant walk from the town's amenities.
When is the best time to go to Viole?
The best time to go to Viole is typically during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.
During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the Umbrian countryside and enjoying outdoor activities like walking or cycling. You'll find the landscape lush and green in spring, with wildflowers in bloom, while autumn brings the rich colours of the harvest season and truffle festivals. These shoulder seasons also mean fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed and authentic experience.
For those who enjoy warmer weather and don't mind more fellow travellers, July and August offer plenty of sunshine and are superb for enjoying the local swimming pools or al fresco dining well into the evening. However, it can get quite hot, and popular attractions will be busier.
