"Lovely hotel on the edge of the town right by the river was a festival going on when we were staying lovely little town to walk around food was fantastic at the floating restaurant opposite the hotel"
"Brief overnight stay going from north to south of france. The private parking was nice, the pool was nice (for the kids, I didn't go down), the extra seating looked nice, but I didn't utilize it. The rooms, while weren't 5 star, were perfectly nice and clean. The only reason i gave it 4 stars for cleanliness was the carpet on the stairs. That should def be replaced. The owners were lovely and helpful. And the town turned out to be great as well."
"Imposing Manor House set within extensive open parkland at the edge of the village. Large bedroom with modern en-suite and smart new linen. Graceful sun-terrace and well stocked library. Lovely Swimming Pool exclusive to residents.
Chateau de Villars is nonetheless an upmarket Bed&Breakfast (Chambre d'Hotes); no catering apart from continental style breakfast and should not be marketed on a par with a similarly priced Hotel which would normally come with some level of all day service.
Could definitely benefit from better signage/directions on entry and clean-up around the pool together with the addition of shower and changing facilities.

"Returned to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary just for one night. Although rooms are quite basic in decoration, the chateau is incredible and the dinner was exceptional. We loved it and will definitely return again. "
