"The house was lovely, modern, clean. My second trip to the cabins. I love it here, so brought my family this time. We loved the common outdoor area by the river and spent many happy hours there together. The Forest Service accross the highway was so helpful and the nearby trails were beautiful.Our last night at the Obsidian Grill and General Store was fantastic with live music, great food and such a perfect mix of locals, fellow travelers and super cute canines. The store is an amazingly great gift shop.We hit two river spots and my daughter scratched her rock hound itch."

" Great cottage, beautiful river, loved sitting on the deck above the river. Very comfortable and in a good location. My only small complaint is that I thought I could access the river and fish from the banks of the McKenzie at the cottage, but the steep 20-foot bluff makes that impossible. So don't plan on fishing there. "

"First time staying in Cabin 9, and it was perfect all around. I obviously love the area with the natural sounds, beauty, attractions and happy people.This cabin was arranged better and had a great reading chair with light and very nice screen porch furniture. When I stayed till the last minute, I met the owner coming to clean their own place. Nice, Thanks."

"This really is a river haven. Unbelievable location that prioritizes river views and sounds. This place has almost everything you'll need: a well-stocked kitchen, linens, towels, washer/dryer, and a fireplace. A note on the fireplace: you'll probably want to get a firestarter kit and a duraflame log from the local market. The wood was pretty stubborn to burn, and we aren't sure if it was the wood or the fireplace that was the problem. In any csse, we were able to get the fire going with the items I mentioned.We did whitewater rafting during our stay through High Country Expeditions. The meeting place is about 5 minutes from the home - highly recommended, even in colder weather. There are also lots of hot springs within a 20 minute drive, and the Sahalie and Koosah waterfalls are about 25 minutes away. We would have done Blue Pool if weather had allowed - the trailhead is 20 minutes away and is a 4 mile (total) out and back moderate hike.Be sure to stock up on groceries in town (Winco in Springfield is my recommendation), as the market can be expensive. Also check out Vida Cafe for breakfast. It's locally owned and operated, and had some of the best lemon marionberry we've ever had. My boyfriend and I will be back."
