We loved our stay here. We come up twice a year to see family. This was the best place we have stayed. Anthony is right across the street and very friendly and helpful. The house was well stocked, kitchen had some pantry staples that came in handy. If you have a disability or need to know… there is two small steps to get in the front door but otherwise is really accessible the bathroom has a bar in the shower for support. Beds are comfortable just know the third bed is a pull out couch but in its own room. We will stay here again! Especially in summer when we can use the beautiful big back yard.

Lovely small bungalow in a great location in Victoria. You need to have a car, though. Clean through-out. More wine glasses would have been nice but that is nit-picking. Anthony came to greet us which was nice. Would stay again.

The property was very nice with a good sized backyard for my little dog to run around in... it was nice having access to a washer/dryer... the property was close to major roads - but not so close that it was noisy... the property owner was very friendly and greeted me on arrival.

Fall Getaway
This property provided our family with a homelike experience. All of the amenities were as described and very well supplied. The layout of the home was comfortable and the quality of workmanship in the renovation was top shelf. The location to various shopping centres and downtown Victoria made for easy access to everything that we were hoping to experience. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

Good location and clean quiet house. Close to Uptown Mall and the excellent Browns Social house. However, host did not respond to phone or text requests and waited until morning of for driving and entry directions. Last minute communication was very upsetting!

Positive overall, deck and cleanliness need attention
4 out of 5. Our family stayed at Anthony’s for a week and overall, our experience was positive. We had the entire property to ourselves but it is only one house away from Tillicum Rd, so there was some minor traffic noise. Communication with Anthony was excellent and he responded quickly. He greeted us when we arrived but gave us privacy during the rest of our stay. This older house appears generally well maintained and the kitchen is well stocked. It has new windows, good appliances, comfortable beds and an updated bathroom, but that is about the extent of the upgrades. We did have a couple of issues: the condition of the deck and cleanliness. First and foremost, the deck is rotting and has a wobbly railing, so it is clearly at the end of its lifespan. Also, the home could benefit from a deep cleaning. There were crumbs/dirt in the bottom corners of the kitchen drawers, cupboards and fridge, the BBQ grill was dirty, a few of the windows and their screens were very dirty, there were several cobwebs in one of the bedrooms, and the bathroom baseboards were dusty. Lastly, one of the tables in the back yard was covered with bird droppings and required cleaning before use. It didn’t affect our stay, but the floors are creaky and there is a mish mash of old furniture and décor, some of it with minor damage. Some updates would serve it well. Only the first few rolls of TP are provided, but there is a grocery store nearby. Not bad overall, but we'd stay elsewhere next time.

Summer on vancouver island
We head to Roxys for our yearly stay and to experience island life and always love it. The house and host make sure we can’t wait to get back. Very central (yet quiet) to all areas of the South Island. We have stayed as a couple and with a second couple and it works well for both. Planning our next visit. Thanks Anthony!

Fantastic House and Location
We really enjoyed our stay with Anthony. He was super fantastic from start to finish. The house was lovely and very clean. We had everything we needed, with ample towels and bedding. It was a hotter week there, so there were plenty of fans, which was much appreciated. The bike trail was a real treat and is just down the road. It's just out of the way of the busy city, but a very short drive to downtown. Both our small dogs stayed with us and loved the backyard. Very pet-friendly home.

A comfortable stay
We enjoyed our stay at Roxie's Retreat. It was very convenient to downtown Victoria. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The kitchen had sufficient pots and pans and utensils. The only thing I would have liked to see is an indication as to whether the oven temperature was in Farhenheit or Celsius. We figured it out, but we had a moment of concern. Anthony was welcoming and accommodating. It was a very nice stay.

UVic Tour
Anthony’s place was perfect for our family trip to visit UVic. The location was very convenient. We were able to easily get to a number of hikes, great meals, and tourist spots. The living room was a comfortable place to gather for games at the end of the day and tea and books on the morning.

Nice place with a great backyard

Anthony’s house was the perfect place for us to spend my son’s 40th birthday. Very comfortable, clean, and super quiet. Every convenience is minutes away including a major mall. Butchart Gardens and Thetis Lake trails were a very short drive. Would have been perfect to bring our dog (even though we did not). The fenced yard would have been perfect. Perfect House for us
We rented this property while waiting for our new house to be completed. The place was clean and well-located. The fenced yard was perfect for our small dog and the neighborhood was great for daily walks. Anthony was welcoming and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property to others.

This is a very nice house with an added patio bonus, beautiful old style hardwood floors (narrow). The house is very clean and has high end microwave, dishwasher, faucets. Very good location ! We loved the place and would visit again.

Great location. Only 15 minutes to most beaches.
Stayed here with the fam in August. Host was very approachable and grinders. Appreciated the fully functional kitchen - tho that toaster has seen its better days. Very clean and enough space for us four. Had some frequent visits from the local humming bird. To nitpick a couple things, one room could use black out curtains. And a few more hedges should drown out the noise from Tillicum and Hi-1…

We had a wonderful stay! The home is cozy, comfortable, clean, and in a safe neighborhood. Anthony was friendly and a great host. We enjoyed sitting in the sun on the back deck—there’s also a shady sitting area for warmer days. The kitchen was well-stocked. The location was close to everywhere we wanted to visit and it was nice to be out of the busyness of Victoria. We plan to stay here again.
