The best time to visit Vernon truly depends on what sort of experience you're after, but generally, late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) offer the most pleasant conditions.

Late spring is wonderful for experiencing the region's natural beauty in full bloom. The weather is typically mild and sunny, superb for exploring the gardens of Giverny, which are at their most colourful during this period. The crowds are usually manageable before the peak summer season, making for a more relaxed visit. This is ideal for couples looking for a romantic escape or solo travellers seeking inspiration from the landscapes that inspired Impressionist painters.

Early autumn also provides delightful weather, with comfortable temperatures and often clear skies. The changing leaves add a different kind of beauty to the countryside, and the summer crowds have dispersed, allowing for a more tranquil visit. This time of year is excellent for those who appreciate cooler weather for walking or cycling along the Seine and exploring the town's historic sites without the summer rush. Families might also find this period appealing for a relaxed trip, as the intense heat of summer is gone, and the school holidays are over, meaning fewer people.

While summer (July and August) is popular due to school holidays and warm weather, it can also mean larger crowds, higher prices, and hotter temperatures, which might not be ideal for everyone.
