Le Dauphin Hotel

Le Dauphin Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"This is a two star hotel wich is situated across the road from the bus, train and ferry port and 5 minutes walk to the city centre. The hotel is in an old building adjoining a bar which has no noise impact on the hotel rooms. The entrance is through a hallway shared with other apartments and is accessed via a lift. The room, while basic, has everytimng you need with a small bathroom with very good shower, good kingsized bed with clean fresh linen and very good air-conditioning. Our room looked out onto the main road and across to the port area. We had no impact from road noise. Staff were helpful and allowed us to store our luggage after check out."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Verghia?
The best area to stay in Verghia is along the coast, particularly around the Plage de Verghia and the stretch of coastline leading towards Porticcio.

This coastal strip is the main draw for visitors, offering direct access to beautiful beaches and clear waters. You'll find a selection of hotels and villas scattered along the D55 road, which runs parallel to the shore. Properties here often boast lovely sea views and are designed to make the most of the Mediterranean setting.

For families, this area is ideal. The beaches are generally calm and shallow, superb for children to play safely. Many accommodations offer direct beach access or are just a short walk away, making it easy to pop back for lunch or a nap. You'll also find a few family-friendly restaurants nearby.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will also appreciate this coastal area. The focus is on unwinding by the sea, enjoying the natural beauty, and perhaps indulging in water sports.
When is the best time to go to Verghia?
The best time to visit Verghia is during the shoulder seasons, specifically May, June, and September, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are thinner.

May and June offer warm, sunny weather great for beach activities and exploring the natural beauty of the region without the peak summer heat or larger crowds. The sea is warming up, making it comfortable for swimming, and the Corsican maquis is in full bloom. This period is ideal for couples seeking a romantic getaway with opportunities for coastal walks and delicious meals at local restaurants.

September provides similar benefits, with the added advantage of the sea being at its warmest after the summer. The summer crowds have dispersed, but the weather remains excellent for swimming, sunbathing, and outdoor adventures like hiking in the nearby mountains or exploring the coastal paths. Families with young children often appreciate the quieter beaches and comfortable temperatures during this month.

While July and August offer the hottest weather and liveliest atmosphere, they also bring the largest crowds and higher prices.
