We loved this property. It was easy to access the city from the rail links and also had a great park behind it with the farmers market on the weekend. The hot tub came is ha dry after a 5km.walk home from the Olympic village area too. I'd recommend staying here
The home was very clean and everything is well organized and labeled! The location was great and we loved that we could easily access the park through the back so the kids could burn off some energy. Check in and out was quick and easy and Sam is very responsive. Would definitely stay here again when we visit Vancouver.
Spotlessly clean, well-appointed, great details for the kids including a small climbing wall and some gym equipment. Owners make the most of the space with tons of storage and logical layout. Hot tub was great. Location was within walking distance of the light rail. Highly recommend this property for families.
This is our second time staying as a family at Sam’s place. The home is very clean, cozy, and is an amazingly located right next to trout lake park. It’s a perfect stay for a family, and Sam is an excellent and highly responsive host. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay Sam (a second time around!)
The house was gorgeous, newly renovated. All the cabinets had labels, so it was easy to find everything. The kids playroom was a great hit with our boys. Lots of cabinets, space for clothing and bags. Had all the amenities that we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here.
You’re property was absolutely beautiful. Was easy to Uber and use sky train from there. My daughter loved the kids room. Loved climbing wall and sitting at the top nook reading her book. Was so well equipped we didn’t need for anything. Thank you for a memorable trip.
We stayed with my family which included 3 children and grandparents. The place was charming and clean. My children loved the rooms and books! It was hot (we visited in the summer), but the fans and open windows at night solved that. I only wish there were screens on the doors and windows, but that’s not a big deal. The location was excellent - central to all the activities we visited (Stanley park, Chinatown, downtown, north Vancouver). Trout lake behind the house was also a big plus, as we walked, visited the farmers market and played on the playground. The host was very accommodating and had great communication. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and we would do it again.
The property is a modern house in a well established area. The immediate surroundings are lovely with the park & community gym/rink etc adjacent. No aircon, but good ventilation. No TV, but why watch TV when there is so much to do in Vancouver! It is relatively close to Vancouver centre making a car not essential, but taxis do add up, do your own homework. Restaurants & Safeway are walkable. Sam was a delight to deal with. Would recommend.
This is a lovely property, if you think it might suit your needs, then it probably will so stop searching and book this one before it’s unavailable!!We stayed as a family (kids are 13 and 21) after my eldest spend a month at UBC on their summer programme. The fact that my eldest had the top floor to himself here was ideal. We were able to park easily nearby, and the SkyTrain is also only a short walk away for hassle free, low cost trips into the downtown area. There’s also an excellent kitchen, well equipped although Commercial Drive (aka “The Drive” locally) was only a walkable evening stroll away for meals out if we preferred…The beds were really comfy, the house is obviously lived/loved in, it’s extremely well maintained, everything is clearly labelled and therefore, finding things in the cupboards is easy to remember. In addition, the host is wonderfully responsive and helpful. We got a list of things to consider visiting and doing both locally, in the community and of course, in the wider Vancouver area which made our ten day stay from the UK one of the best trips we’ve ever had.It really helped knowing that we would be returning to this gem of a place each evening, in such a peaceful neighbourhood, to catch up on some well needed rest before our next adventure. The morning walks around the lake out back were wonderful too.In summary, this property is definitely deserving of its exceptional ratings.
Our family has stayed in many rentals but Samantha's home really stands out. My youngest said it was the best rental ever and my tween liked being able to have his own space on the third floor. That was something very important while being together so much on a long trip - everyone had their own space to escape to when needed.
The host could not be more gracious and accommodating. This is truly their home and you can sense that it is not a sterile rental that is a revolving door of guests.
Being on the park was an incredible amenity for us. Having green space, walking paths and a playground just beyond the back fence was very nice.
All of the beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage.
The house does have three floors so it may not be a good fit for those with mobility issues or very young children.
My biggest concern for a stay away from home is safety and quiet. This home does share a wall with neighbors but we did not hear one sound from next door. The neighborhood also felt very safe.
We did use the SkyTrain one day to visit downtown and found it easiest to use one of the parking garages near the station. The cost was minimal and the ride to the waterfront station took all of 9 minutes with trains coming every 2 minutes.
The home was equipped with everything we needed and more. Parking was never an issue and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
This is a really lovely home in a beautiful neighbourhood that is still within a reasonable distance to anything you might need in the city. Samantha was such a wonderful and attentive host, and my group would highly recommend a stay here if you're in need of a few bedrooms!
Nice house, great location, easy and quick to get to downtown and Stanley Park, very responsive and friendly owner, cool bonus features like piano, fitness/climbing device and hot tub
One of the greatests stays I could have asked for.
The host had everything written out from the start which made check in very simple and the place was absolutely amazing. If you ever have the chance to stay in vancouver please consider picking this home. The host was one of the most thoughtful and attending host that I have had the pleasure to talk with. If I ever need to stay in vancouver know that I will be picking this place again!
Well located house! Sam is very welcoming, the house was clean, ready to have us. The beds were very comfortable. The backyard was perfect with access to the park.
We were very pleased with the initial communication while booking and checking in, and very impressed once we arrived. Excellent amenities (picnic supplies, coffee, dishes etc). Very lovely spot to sit in back yard and quiet. Quite central to everything we wanted to do such as Granville Island and Stanley park. Very cool layout for a property and our kids (3 & 6) loved it!! Very highly recommend the hosts, location, and the amenities!!
Wonderful stay with great amenities. There is no tv which wasn’t a huge problem, but we would have liked to watch a movie in the evening.
Be aware that there is no Air Conditioning which can get unbearably hot during the summer.
Gorgeous home in a beautiful Vancouver neighborhood!
We were 2 couples and 2 kids staying at Sam’s place and had a wonderful experience. They have a beautifully designed home, everything in the home is labelled and clear, we slept really comfortably, the kids had a blast in the kids room with the swing and climbing wall, and the adults really enjoyed our hot tub in the evenings! Also, being around the corner from trout lake park was perfect with two young kids. We would definitely stay at Sam’s again!
The house was very clean and welcoming. The hosts left us snacks for the kids and a bottle of wine for us. Lots to do for kids, between the climbing wall/trapeze and many books and games. Though the weather in Vancouver was unusually warm and the house has no A/C, the fans kept the house plenty cool at night. It is within walking distance to public transportation and borders a park that has a great Saturday farmer's market. We had a wonderful experience!
We have rented many homes/apartments/cottages over the last 15 years on different platforms, but we never met such a lovely host. Everything was flawless, from A to Z.
Perfect location, max 10 min walk from Skytrain, giant park right in the backyard, fully furnished home (Samantha thought about everything you could need and she made it available, literally everything), very comfortable for 3 adults and 3 kids. Amazingly clean, so well decorated and careful host.
We wish we would have booked a longer stay, we all have loved our stay!!!!
All I can say is wow! Samantha was an awesome, communicative, sweet and friendly host! The home was extremely clean and had all amenities you could think of and more, coffee, cream, laundry detergent, shampoo, ect. It had such beautiful views and even some extras in the kids room which my niece loved! We were welcomed with a thoughtful card and a bottle of wine which I thought was just the sweetest thing ever. You can walk straight out to the huge park and lake right off the backyard gate and it was only a few minutes of a walk to restaurants and shopping. Very safe, clean and quiet neighborhood. Samantha was very quick to respond or give us any info needed. We loved our stay so much and are planning on going back. We will definitely hope to get to stay at Samantha’s again. Thanks Samantha!!!
Sam’s house was everything our family needed for our stay in Vancouver. The kitchen had everything we looked for including possibly the best coffee I’ve ever had. Everything was very well marked and easy to find. Wonderful use of space. My daughter loved the gymnastics and climbing room and my son liked the “party room” as he called it. King bed was comfortable. If you have mobility issues know that there or lots of stairs. Landscaping and patio were nicely done. Hot tub was clean. Nice neighbors. Beware that Google Maps comes up with the wrong house. Same block but it’s not a green house. Perfect for families, couples, friends. Great location to explore the Vancouver area.
