Trans Am Totem stands at the eastern end of False Creek, near the intersection of Quebec Street and Pacific Boulevard in Vancouver (near Telus World of Science). The “totem” theme is an allusion to Vancouver’s First Nations legacy. As recently as 150 years ago, the area around False Creek was tidal flats and pristine old growth forest. A Squamish village stood at the mouth of the inlet and nearby were Musqueam and Tsleil-Watuth communities. Reception in L1 on Saturdays @7:30pm, was very rude and aggressive when approaching us to make us aware of the rules of the lobby. We had our husbands drinking an alcoholic drink again unaware of the rules of the hotel. Immediately our husband's dispossessed their drink. She even called security. We felt discriminatied as we sat there waiting for our dinner reservations. She approached everyone who looked to be her same nationality with such pleasure and made us feel completely like outsiders. We definitely DO not plan to return to this hotel. We are high educated individuals that hold high ends roles in the business world and will share with our colleagues.
