"The room views are great, especially the rooms higher up the hill. Everyone was very polite. The rooms and common areas were always clean. Service was slow at times, and fine at times. Island time I guess. The beach was not crowded and there were no vendors hassling you near the resort area. The food was decent, but we had better venturing out to some other restaurants. Good enough when you wanted to remain at the resort. It seems like this was designed to be adults only, but there were some kids around. Overall, it is as advertised and one of the nicer places. Glad we stayed there. "

"Beautiful resort with access to such an incredible turquoise water. The views from around the resort were absolutely stunning! I loved their food - every meal had great presentation! Very attentive service, staff constantly asking if you need anything. My husband’s birthday was on the last day of our trip. The restaurant staff provided absolutely beautiful table filled with fresh flowers and bottle of champagne, without even knowing what time we will show up. That was really beautiful surprise. We loved the “romantic vibe” of this resort. It provided very intimate, quiet and relaxing time for me and my husband. It is a village style resort, so definitely some walking is required. Rooms are private houses on the hill. Little outdated but clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back with our friends. I strongly recommend this place to anyone. "

"Great beach and location! Staff was friendly and accommodating. After seeing several reviews that weren’t great, I was worried. The rooms are clean and had everything we needed. Food was a little boring after several days but we ate out a few times, so it didn’t bother us. The beach was great, calm waves. 2 pools! No entertainment to speak of, which we were disappointed about but there are a few places within walking or driving distance that we found that had music at night. "

"Incredible family run place with a lot of charm. Everything is thought through and the rooms very well equipped. Right by the beach and very accessible. I found it a bonus as well as it was very close to the trail that leads up to Boggy Peak (aka Mount Obama) and one can do hike up to the summit and back within 3 or 4 hours. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything has been perfect for my stay here."

"Perfect stay, the room was amazing, stepped straight out onto the beach and fabulous sunsets. Bar had anything you wanted and staff were extremely helpful. Restaurant served wonderful food, for breakfast and lunch, shame it didn’t open in the evening. "

Our host, Andrez couldn’t have been kinder or more accommodating. The spacious, clean home was perfect for our large family while we awaited my son’s arrival after competing in The World’s Toughest Row. It was perfect for his recuperation as we enjoyed the spectacular views, amazing pool, and stunning beaches. The location is perfect to take in a different beach everyday and a 30 minute drive to English Harbor as we cheered on other boats coming in while enjoying the historic Nelson’s Dockyard. The property manager, Nair, was readily available and responsive when needed. Lorraine and her cleaning staff are lovely and accommodating. Your stresses will really disappear while staying at Ft. Shelley, it’s magical."
