"Huge house for family to share, wish we can stay even longer to well use the house and enjoy the Aso National park more!
Great facilities like kitchen, washing machine and jacuzzi bath tub."
"It was so pleasure for us to stay and experience Japanese culture in the hotel. Very surprised with their friendlyness- so nice and kind. Driver Ken was the nicest person we've ever met. He made the day for us, and he also made the high ratings of this hotel.

"Super hospitality despite the language barrier, a very charming small inn. Only a few minutes from the train station, and an easy walk to the center as well. Lots of small, nice touches and a fully equipped kitchen for guests. "
"This is a new type of a Japanese "Ryokan", mostly self-services. Quiet area and much cheaper than other typical "Ryokan" in the town. Yet, I enjoyed one of the private-room onsen. "
"It was very nice to stay =)
The staff are super friendly. I can't praise them highly enough.
The rooms are spacious spotlessly clean. The location is nice with countryside views. We very much enjoyed the garden and saunas. The breakfast was excellent, too. A very nice place to really rest and relax. I would gladly come back."

"Beautiful, traditional Japanese style rooms provide an authentic experience. We enjoyed the breakfast. They did their best to accomodate my wife's gluten free diet needs. The family onsens were a nice option for privacy."
"Cozy, clean & spacious room with a mini onsen. Pre-check in is advisable. 5 minute walk to Kirin Lake where beautiful scenery & cafes around. 10 minute walk to Yufuin Floral Village & shopping streets. "
"The two of us stayed at ryokan Reimei at the end of March and we booked the reimei room with an open bath. We had the best experience ever. We could go in for a dip whenever we felt like it. The shower is on the outside with the open bath and the coldness of the weather wasnโt a problem for us since the water of the shower was quite warm and you jump into the onsen right afterโฆ (I see lots of comments complaining about that). Dinner/breakfast service time and shuttle bus leaving time was chosen at checkin, we could choose between the times that were convenient for us. The dinner and breakfast were not true kaiseki but it was still delicious and fulfilling. We also brought some pudding from downtown before going to our ryokan and I definitely recommend doing that as thereโs no dessert component in the dinner kaiseki. This is not our first ryokan and having an open air bath definitely made the experience 10000 times better!!! We will definitely choose the same room again if weโre coming back to yufuin!! "
"I love that this hotel was completely different than what I expected. Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised by the bed & breakfast style of the hotel and the nostalgic memorabilia displayed throughout the hotel as well. The staff was very informative and accommodating to my needs while speaking english. I felt right at home. The free hot chocolate was delicious which I sipped graciously in the living room after a hot soak in the private onsen. I had such a relaxing experience. I am looking forward to visiting Yufuin again and returning to this hotel! "
"Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."
Works of two of Japanโs best-known modernist sculptors and artists fill this private museum, making it feel a bit like entering their home, full of an easy intimacy.
Best known for his covers of the Saturday Evening Post, a great American illustrator is the subject of this small but enthusiastic collection in Japan.
