We especially liked the friendliness of the staff,the wonderful quiet garden and the breakfast. Unluckily our whirlpool did not work and we missed a brush to clean the toilet. But these 2 little mistakes do not bother our great experience with u Shaka manor.

Lovely hotel, great staff

The hotel is very comfortable and clean. It's a short walk to the ocean, and thete are lots of restaurants a couple of blocks away. The staff was friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful stay at this property. My wife and I checked in for a weeks stay whilst I attended a conference in the area. From our arrival u til departure nothing was too much trouble. Thklo and her team ensured everything was just perfect and ready to go out of their way to ensure that everything was just perfect. We had booked with a breakfast and this was wonderfully served with a preselected hot breakfast if you wished. We felt very comfortable walking in the area if we wanted to shop or spend an evening out. Five stars because they really deserve it. Thank you so much and we will definitely recommend you to our friends and book again if we are back in the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Staff superb. Most things very good. 2 exceptions 1. The jacuzzi bath jets were broken and it was awkward to fill the bath. As this was one of the reasons I chose the room this was disappointing. 2. The breakfast was mediocre at best. Continental bit OK; cooked bit very poor. 1 smallish sausage and 2 small pieces of streaky bacon and 2 eggs. could have had beans and tomato but do not like them.

Excellent value and great location

Excellent value and very convenient location. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was they didn’t have a backup generator to deal with the regular power failures that have plagued the country for over 10 years. For example, I arrived during a power failure and the main gate wouldn’t open, and the intercom at the main gate was INOP. So it required me to make an international cell call (I was visiting from the USA and had a US-based cell phone) to their main office to get someone from inside the facility to open the gate. Not having the room AC operating for several hrs during the power failures is also quite uncomfortable, and will be even worse in mid-summer. They really need to invest in a backup generator.

Complimentary tea and coffee in the self catering unit with alcoholic beverages to purchase. Nice touch. There was an intermittent noise from either an external unit or possibly the air con which did disturb sleep and was particularly disappointing.

What a great place!

Can't say enough good things about uShaka. Fantastic value, marvellous breakfast and in Umlhanga rocks... the team there do a superb job and the property is great. I will definetly look here forrst for availability when i go back.
