"Our room had pretty textured walls and beautiful artwork. The furnishings were also high quality. Its a 3 minute walk to the beach, and within a few minutes drive of a mini-mart, ice cream place, and some restaurants. I couldn't figure out when checkout time was, but another guest told me 11am. Also the doors have # codes on them so you can check in without seeing anyone. But the insides of the doors don't have slide locks, so we were worried about someone being able to enter if they found out...

"My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at The Tranquil House Inn in Manteo while we explored the Outer Banks. The rooms and service were great, and the location right on the water in downtown Manteo was perfect. Manteo has a charming downtown that offers plenty of shops and attractions without feeling too touristy. We also really enjoyed the light breakfast offerings each morning and the staff were so friendly and helpful."

"The property was great, we only had one snag where the Amazon Fire Stick in the master bedroom and the living room were not working and prevented us from being able to watch anything on those TVs. We called to notify someone on our second day (A Thursday) after trying to troubleshoot it ourselves. The lady in the office was very nice and helpful. We were told someone would likely come by for it the next day as we had called late afternoon that day. I'm not sure how the request was handled from there but we got a text that Maintenance was starting our request on Friday and when we got back that night the TVs were still not working. We didnt bother reporting it again because we were going to be out of the house for most of our remaining trip anyway, however two days later when we made a stop at the house on Sunday, Maintenance was there working on the TVs. We weren't made aware anyone was going to be back at the property that day. The maintenance man was very kind but we told him not to even worry about it at this point since we were going to be checking out the next morning. Luckily this problem was a very minor one for us since we dont use the TVs much anyway, it was just a little frustrating to deal with. Overall the stay was awesome and we'll be keeping this property saved as an option for future trips."

"We loved the character of the 1938 beach house with some of the original things like door latches and tongue and groove board walls, and we loved the location. There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom of the main floor bathroom—updating this would be a plus. The sunrise views were gorgeous. There were many steps to the main floor and to the top floor which were challenging for some of our family. The home was nicely decorated with antiques. There was a bulb out in the kitchen ceiling fan, and in one bedroom you couldn’t turn off the light of the ceiling fan—it was all or none. The AC went out one evening of our stay. We reported the outage early on the following day. The host was quick to respond and to communicate but was slow to send an AC technician. It was getting near the end of the day, and 3 of the four bedrooms were on the floor with temperatures of 79 degrees. Finally a technician was sent and repaired the problem in about 30 minutes. It was a good vacation and stay overall."
