Great place great location, tricky check-in

The apartment condo was great once we got checked in however the check-in process was a little confusing and we got missed messages from the people we called. Anyone staying here has to be aware that it’s not like a hotel check-in you need to use the lockbox and find it yourself and check yourself in and check yourself out and there’s no one really on the property to help, the apartment condo was super comfortable and very beautiful in a great location however, there were a few things that were broken like the lid of the coffee pot and a couple other things that we reported right away. After working through the initial headache and problems getting checked in, it was a fantastic place to stay and would recommend if you can manage the check-in situation.

The location at Jarvis and Dundas is ideal for walking, public transportation and sight seeing. Plenty of coffee, grocery options and shopping within a 10-15 minute walk. It's a quiet unit with fridge, microwave, coffee, washer/dryer, I was able to book last minute. Communication was prompt. I would book this unit again. I had issue with the elevator when trying to leave in the morning. We ended up taking the stairs. The staff at condo said elevator can be an issue. No other issues. I slept well.

Imagine arriving to your hotel at 3:30 am after long and delayed flights and -16c in Toronto No body at front desk and the phone attendant tell me that the reservation is cancelled and somebody else is in the room. She pulled a “we tried to contact you sir but you did not respond” on me but we all know that is a simple excuse. This is despite my repeated attempts to contact them via Expedia messaging system. So to me this establishment receives a negative rating. Ps I went to 4 hotels and finally found a spot double the price at 5am

No communication on check-in process. Keys were not in the lockbox even when we managed to get a hold of them to get the check-in info. It took 45 minutes to figure out how to get into the unit. And no willingness from landlord to try to correct it.

A total mess

I didn't stay there, in the end, though I tried. Arrived to find that their "lockbox system" is actually literally a bunch of real estate type lock boxes in zero order. When I finally called in a panic as I couldn't even find one for my room, they told me the key had been misplaced or not returned and they could "maybe" offer a room in another property (but not close by and I was already extremely late for the event I was in town for in the first place). A semi-security person at the door is polite but can't help. It's been over a week and still awaiting a refund - I require this as they still hold my "over a few hundred dollars" and I had to completely change my entire schedule. They are polite over the phone and via WhatsApp but the whole experience was a mess and I'm still awaiting my refund.

The unit was great, the area borders on a slightly rougher part of town but over all the walkability and price makes this a great property to stay at. Mix of residential units and rentals. Only negatives were check in says 4 on Expedia but then when you call they tell you it’s actually 5pm. The other issue was the key was difficult to find as the instructions did not include the number of the lock box, only its position on a bar of about 15 - 20 others. The lockbox was said to be on the end but was not, and I spent about 10 minutes trying the combo lockbox by lockbox until I found it, only then to receive a text message from Bay Suites property management company saying “Only take the key for Suite number ####”. 1) update your instructions to include the lockbox number that you’ve painted on the outside, because order of lockboxes can’t be guaranteed. 2) don’t imply that I’m up to something nefarious 3) creepy af. When I responded stating that I had, and that I wanted to know how they knew I was struggling I was told they were watching from the cameras in the hall to “help clients find the key, as it’s the number 1 problem guests have”. Well I suggest you look at 1) here and give clear instructions. Was a bit unsettling and was glad I was only staying the one night after that.

This is a well priced small newer condo in a good and walkable area. While the walls need some touch up paint, it otherwise is pretty well maintained. The check-in and check-out process is poor. The room with the lockbox has over 50 other lockboxes and there is not specific information on how to find the one for the unit. While the rows of lockboxes are numbered, they provided no detail on which row the unit lockbox was and I had to look at each one for a special number.

Registration and damage deposit instructions were provided only 2-hour prior to check in, despite my effort of calling a couple days in advance. Check in instructions was never sent until I called manager after I arrived at lobby. The concierge cannot check you in. Property was not thoroughly cleaned, fridge had left over items from prior tenant. Dining table had a spill that was dried up and sticky. Chairs and sofa had food crumbs. There are more surprised underneath the removable dining chair seating cushion or dining placemat if you look hard enough! This is not a professional operation. Enjoy!

Estafadores, la peor experiencia de mi vida. NO OS QUEDEIS AQUI!!! Una hora esperando en la puerta que me mandasen las instrucciones del check in, cuando subo el aire acondicionado estaba encendido y no se podia apagar, ha sido una pesadilla. Me prometieron que venian a arreglarlo al dia siguiente, no vino nadie ni me contactaron para informarme. Al llegar a la habitacion llamé enfadado y me dijeron que al dia siguiente me cambiaban de habitación, perdí una mañana entera esperando y nadie me llamó ni me cogían el movil. Me han arruinado las vacaciones. Lo peor de todo es que te engañan, te dicen que te han dicho una cosa cuando te han dicho otra. Solo hace falta ver las reseñas en las distintas webs, mentiras, no devuelven el deposito cuando quieren. Para colmo, hoy al hablar con el encargado tras 72h intentandolo me dice que ellos me ofrecieron cambiarme de alojamiento y lo denegué, MENTIRA. Le digo que me indique quien me ofreció esto y tras 10 minutos comprobando me dice que tengo razón, que nadie me lo ofreció. He perdido horas y horas al teléfono para que me hagan un reembolso de 100 dolares cuando mi estancia fueron mas de 600. De verdad alejaros de cualquier propiedad de estos estafadores. La ducha sin cortinas, el baño se inundaba cada vez que me duchaba. Ni un tenedor en toda la habitación. La peor experiencia de mi vida y encima mentirosos y estafadores.

We were there two days and the building alarms kept going off. We were advised to exit via stairwell, when we reached the ground floor to exit the building the door was locked! There was about 25 to 30 people trapped in the stairwell! Thank goodness this was not a real fire because i fear we would have died!!

This place was an absolute nightmare. The management staff have no idea what they are doing and don’t communicate at all. Wasted so many days stuck in our unit waiting on things. We were locked in our unit for 24hr cause they don’t have staff working on the weekend when our door lock broke. Spent days asking to speak with a supervisor or manger after an endless list of things that went wrong and staff not handling the issues appropriately or getting them completed in a timely manner. Staff would give you attitude when things went wrong and were god awful to deal with. Took 3 days to finally get batteries that were old and already leaking battery acid for the dead tv remote when we arrived at our unit…ended up just going out and buying some. We stayed a little over 2 week here and they left us 1 used roll of paper towel and 1 use roll of toilet paper for 2 people for a 2 week plus stay…took them 3 days for house keeping to finally knock on our door just to drop off 1 roll of paper towel and 1 roll of toilet paper…so we went out and brought our own again. They tell you things would be at a certain time and would be stuck waiting hours & hours…until we couldn’t stay in the unit waiting on them anymore cause it was already 3 pm and we were starving with no food in the unit waiting on their staff to respond…with them telling us just another hour or give us a bit more time. This is just some of the things that went wrong. Waste of money and time if you book with them.

I arrived to check-in to find an empty lockbox with no key in it. I was reassigned to a different unit that was dirty and not as advertised. The property management ignored my complaints for most of the 2 days of my stay claiming they would get into contact with me. I am still waiting to speak to someone. One of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had travelling.

The unit was not ready, not cleaned after organized. It was full of food leftovers they did dishes at the bed was Terrible. First winter for 30 I saw that awful scene And ask them to make the units ready. I reached out them at 7 PM, but it wasn't ready yet. I called them at 9 PM and they said it's ready finally. I asked him to wave one night because of that terrible experience refuse and offered late check out but when I reach to Expedia customer service, They claim that unit was ready and that's it. This residence Is terrible, The manager is not responsible, The staff are awful and even the checkout process took one hour. I had a flight and I had should have left 3 AM. The lockbox code has been changed and no one knew what was the code and I asked him to deliver the key to the security and they said no to the new code check out email that they sent me at the final day morning. The code was wrong. These people are not trust, they are liars and they know nothing about hospitality . I do not blame them. It's all about Expedia that works with these people and also Expedia doesn't offer any support.
