Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tona?
The best area to stay in Tona is around the Plaça Major, the town's central square.

This area is the heart of Tona, where you'll find the most convenient access to local amenities and a pleasant atmosphere. The Plaça Major itself is a charming, open space, often hosting local markets and events. Surrounding streets like Carrer Major and Carrer de la Font are home to traditional bakeries, local shops, and cafes, making it very walkable.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will find this area particularly appealing. The proximity to local eateries means you can enjoy romantic dinners without needing to travel far, and the quiet evenings around the square offer a lovely setting for a stroll.

For travellers interested in local culture and history, staying near the Plaça Major puts you within easy reach of the Sant Andreu de Tona church and other historic buildings.
When is the best time to go to Tona?
The best time to visit Tona is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These seasons offer pleasant weather, with mild temperatures and less rainfall than the summer. It's ideal for exploring the town and its surroundings comfortably, whether you're planning to hike in the Montseny Natural Park or visit the local castle ruins. The countryside is particularly beautiful during these times, with spring blossoms or autumn colours.

Couples looking for a peaceful getaway will appreciate the quieter atmosphere during these shoulder seasons. You'll find it easier to enjoy romantic walks and dinners without the larger crowds associated with peak summer.

Families travelling with children might also find these periods more comfortable as the milder temperatures are better suited for outdoor activities and exploring without the intense summer heat.
