"Our experience at The Commonwealth was top notch from the moment we pulled up to the valet parking area. We were immediately greeted by Eric, who asked direct questions to establish what we would need. Eric would prove to be the absolute best resource that any hotel guest could ever have. He cared for not only our vehicle, but made sure we had all the information we needed to make the most of our visit to Richmond. Every time we saw him over the course of our stay, he was asking how he could help. He was a great ambassador for the Commonwealth and for the city itself. I didn’t get the name of the young man who checked us in, but he was equally friendly, efficient and welcoming. The hotel itself is gorgeous with tons of historical charm. I prefer to avoid “cookie cutter” hotels and the Commonwealth is in a league of its own. We enjoyed the custom murals throughout and the paintings featured on the room doors had such a whimsical feel. We were tired from driving, so we chose to eat at the Rueger’s restaurant adjacent to the lobby. The food was good and our server, Maria, was engaging and made some delicious cocktails featuring local moonshine from Belle Isle Distillery. We enjoyed talking to her while having our dinner both nights of our stay. Our suite was not large, but it overflowed with style and character. Everything was in good working order and we were able to relax. The linens were clean and comfortable. The bed was firm and we had no problems drifting off to sleep."
"The first roomed we booked was for a queen room graden view. The room was nice and clean, very small and had no fridge. The second night we switched to a king room. The king room was big, had a fridge and microwave. The staff was very helpful with making a new reservation for the second night since we had booked through exp"
"Monique provided EXCELLENT service at check in patiently answering our questions about the hotel and area. She was professional and had an incredible positive attitude. "
"We loved our stay in the Studio! We biked from Williamsburg to RVA and needed a break pace to crash. This was perfectly central to the food, coffee, and friends. Our lodging provided everything we needed - a nice kitchen (we didn’t use, but know we can in the future!), a space to eat, a super comfy bed, and a spacious bathroom with all the amenities. We spent some time hanging out on the porch and meeting neighbor dogs! Highly recommend The Studio @ Eanes Drug!"
"Overall, our group had a pleasant time but there were a few things that effected our stay: We were given two different unit numbers for check-in, which caused some minor confusion. The apartment was not as clean as we would have liked; the toilet bowls were pink, the washer clearly has mold growing inside it, and most of the floors could have done with a good vacuum mopping. There was a sign in the living room clearly meant to display internet info, but it was left completely blank and we had to message the host. The host, however, were very kind and picked up immediately when called. And we did find the apartment a lot more spacious than the photos made it seem, which was a welcome surprise! And the rest of the space, like the beds and high-touch surfaces, appeared clean. Lots of great restaurants in this area and fairly walkable to a lot of the spots we wanted to check out. We were concerned about parking, but had no issues finding spots near the rental. The neighborhood got a little rowdy at night, but that's just how it goes when you're staying in the city on a weekend. All in all, cleanliness and organization were our biggest issue. This stay would have been perfect if some of the more obvious things (the toilets, washer, unit numbers, and wifi info) were taken care of. "
