It’s a must do! Very relaxing. Off the grid with a wonderful hostess and those monkeys! Treat yourself to the spa and relax on this private mangrove.

Yes yes yes!!!!

Our stay at Urraca Private Island is the most awesome, memorable lodging experience we’ve had (and that’s saying a lot, because we travel frequently and have had many fantastic experiences). The place is amazing, kind of a cross between Swiss Family Robinson, Robinson Crusoe, and a high end Africa-style resort with adventure amenities like kayaks. And monkeys! This is the only place we know of that enables us to directly interact with sweet monkeys, even having one jump on our shoulders. The lodging is very comfortable (with steps to the water right off our deck, as well as an outdoor shower!), the food is excellent, staff is great, and there were surprisingly very few of the itchy no see-ums that are so common in this region. This setting allows you to meet and share the dinner table with your fellow travelers (great stories!), or dine on your own. The owner, Francine, is amazing. She has incredible life stories and her passion for the monkeys, the area, and her guests’ comfort is remarkable. We’re so happy we stayed here, and plan to come back because once was not enough!

Fantastic!!

Francine and her team have created a magical place!! Francine welcomed us in and ensured we had a faboulous stay. She has created a special place and the whole experience was like no other. She and her team were incredible. You can't not feel relaxed. The cabins were clean and very nice. The food not only tasted incredible, the presentation was amazing. Each staff member went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of. The monkeys were beautiful - and so well looked after. The whole experience was fantastic. We look forward to returning! Thank you Francine.

A must for the the exotic searching traveler, Mind blowing!

My husband and I have always tried to find adventure and relaxation in our travels. This particular spot may have ruined us for the rest of the world. Francine saw to our every need. We now adventure travel with our 4 yr old girl and 8 yr old boy. When we arrived - starfish galore, a monkey climbing into my little girl's lap, a natural fish nursery - with no need for snorkel equipment. Fresh Noni juice, a chef brought in special for us - lobster almost everynight ( if we wanted it) and travels to private beaches were just the more mundane activities provided. I am a fiber artist and wanted to desperately learn from the Ngobe women there. This was arranged. We spent 2 days at their house - learning from each other. Our children laughing and playing with theirs. Comfortable nights, great hostess and wonderful learning experience. I wish many of you to experience this magical place and leave as I did with tears running down your cheeks.

J’ai eu l’immense chance de partager quelques jours avec Francine dans ce lieu paradisiaque et j’en garde de superbes souvenirs. Apres avoir croisĂ© des dauphins en chemin, Francine et son Touti (son petit singe) nous ont accueillit chaleureusement dans leur superbe demeure sur pilotis au cƓur des mangroves. RĂ©veil avec vue imprenable sur les CaraĂŻbes, plongĂ©e au cƓur de rĂ©cifs coralliens, rencontre avec la population locale
 Francine est l’hĂŽte parfaite et a su rendre le sĂ©jour magique et inoubliable. Un voyage que je recommande a tous les amoureux de la nature qui recherchent une expĂ©rience dĂ©paysante et authentique. Un grand merci !

PARADIS sur terre et sur mer, rien de moins !

Mai 2011 sera à jamais mémorable grùce à notre séjour chez FRANCINE, à Urraka. Comment oublier son accueil, la BIENVENUE fleurie et chantante de son groupe d'amis indiens, la VIE EN ROSE avec une nature pittoresque difficile à décrire, un singe-Capucin TOUTI plus qu'attachant malgré quelques espiÚgleries, un personnel bien formé pour les délicieux repas servis avec couleurs tropicales, les tours en bateau, la chance inouïe de voir des dauphins tout proches, et j'en passe ?? Je lÚve mon verre d'ABUELO pour tous ceux et celles qui vivront, chez Francine, pareille aventure paradisiaque ! Bravo et merci 1000 fois à Francine.

Un voyage unique !

Mon voyage chez Francine, Ă  l'Ăźle d'Urraca, restera Ă  jamais gravĂ© dans ma mĂ©moire! Un endroit magnifique et extraordinairement paisible, rien de mieux pour se dĂ©tendre et se recentrer sur soi-mĂȘme. Francine nous accueille avec une touchante gĂ©nĂ©rositĂ© et nous fait partager son amour de la nature avec des excursions Ă  vous couper le souffle! Ce petit hĂŽtel surprend autant par son charme que par son confort, rien n'y manque! Ajoutez Ă  cela une piscine naturelle d'eau translucide et une vue imprenable! Les repas sont gĂ©nĂ©reux et dĂ©licieux, cuisinĂ©s avec des produits frais, je vous recommande les langoustes fraichement pĂȘchĂ©es! En bref, pas de superflu, que de l'authentique! Je le recommande Ă  100% !

Un rĂȘve

J'ai Ă©tĂ© accueillie par un groupe de beaux enfants indiens locaux avec des voix sublimes. L'endroit nous Ă©bloui - on se retrouve dans un nouveau monde oĂč tout est synonyme de beautĂ©. Une succession d'agrĂ©ables surprises nous attendait de jours en jours - Urraca Island Ă  toi seule, tu possĂšdes la beautĂ© de ce coin de pays avec ta verdure luxuriante, ta mer si bleue, ton accueuil hors du commun et de ton site enchanteur, je reverrai le tout dans mes plus beaux rĂȘves. le paradis sur terre

Exceptionnellement paisible, un site enchanteur dont la nature nous ressource instantanement. Apres quelques jours a Urraca Island, nous sommes partis avec le voilier de 40' de Francine a l'aventure dans les environs... A chaque fois que nous sommes revenu a Urraca, nous etions bien heureux de retrouver le comfort et l'ambiance chaleureuse de ce merveilleux petit resort. Lyne et Dominic

Alone on a private Island...the dream !!

I spent two weeks at Urraca. This was a fantastic vacation, a mix between the Amazon and the Caribbean, between the adventure and tranquility. My bungalow has direct views of the ocean where I could see dolphins. The food was excellent. Francine, the owner is very nice and shared his passion for his corner of paradise. She also has a funny pet monkey named Touti, he is very cute ... I recommend you to go on the island of zapatillas, the paradise and also a fantastic excursion Baya Azul. I had the chance to meet Indian Ngobe, and to know more about their way of life .. if you want to get out of the ordinary, without sacrificing comfort, Urraca is the place.

Le paradis / Heaven

Je suis allée à Urraca en février 2011. C'était le paradis!.. Francine nous accueille avec chaleur et le paysage est magnifique!!... Je recommande à ceux qui aiment l'air pur, la mer, l'exotisme et l'aventure. I went to Urraca in February 2011. It was heaven! .. Francine welcomed us with warmth and the scenery is beautiful !!... Une expérience unique!! I had a great time!!

Je suis allée dans ce petit paradis en février 2011. L'accueil de Francine a été d'une générosité sans égale. Les excursions, les repas délicieux, la paix et la beauté de la mer... En prime, une cérémonie de bienvenue livrée par des jeunes du village tout prÚs.... Rien d'ordinaire, que de belles surprises. Je recommande à tout voyageur d'aventure, à ceux qui veulent vivre une expérience de paix en harmonie avec la nature. J'y retournerai, c'est sûr. I went to this little paradise in February 2011. The welcome of Francine was generosity unparalleled. Excursions, delicious food, peace and beauty of the sea .. As a bonus, a ceremony of welcome delivered by youths from a little village nearby .... Anything but ordinary, and beautiful surprises. I recommend to any adventure traveler, to those who want an experience of peace in harmony with nature. I will return for sure.
