"The staff were so friendly, so helpful--ordering us a taxi, explaining about the Oxford Bus to Heathrow, etc. The concept of turning a prison into a hotel--wow! Our room was fabulous. The whole setting and what has been done with this enormous golden stone building is so imaginative and fun. Great location for walking/shopping in Oxford. Close to everything."

"The hotel was really good value for money, rooms were very clean, a little too warm and we couldn’t turn the radiator off in the bathroom! Easy ride on the bus into town and close to the shops and restaurants of Summertown however the best thing about the hotel is the staff, we didn’t see many of them, just Lucas doing the cooking and his colleague (didn’t catch his name, sorry!) who was doing everything else! Really friendly, outstanding breakfast, nice room and great value!"

"We had a great stay at The Store. We were upgraded to a room with a balcony looking down on Broad Street. Thank you! The hotel is immaculate and the beds are very comfortable. After our dinner plans, we had a lovely time in the bar with friends where the seating is comfortable, service was good and drinks choice wide. Our only small complaint was the room doors. They are heavy and really bang when they shut - we were woken by neighbouring rooms in the middle of the night and very early in the morning. Maybe The Store can look into some soft close hinges?!"

"This is a truly lovely hotel, very clean, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast was fresh and delightful, and the bar was a pleasant addition. The atmosphere was quite relaxed, which was very enjoyable. My only minor suggestion would be regarding the bed, which I personally found to be a bit firm. Aside from that, I would gladly stay again and highly recommend it."

"I normally don’t leave reviews but for something like this I was extremely disappointed. The room I was in was not clean and when I asked the property owners to change the sheets they said that I put something on it, mind you I’d just gotten there two minutes ago and they were showing me my room. The outlet was undone and felt dangerous. The bathroom was so small you couldn’t open the door all the way as it would hit the sink half way through. This wasn’t a very cheap rate either, the easy hotel down the street was charging 5£ less than they did but I decided to go with this because I wanted a more authentic experience and the pictures online looked cozy. Overall was it the worst place you could have? No. Would I recommend it to someone else? Also no. Would I come back? Definitely not. I’ll stick to proper hotels from now on after this experience. "
