"This home is amazing! We were a little nervous to stay in a place where the owner also lived there. You would have never known! Rick was so kind and gave us a tour and told us the best fishing spots for the boys to fish. They even had brownies! We will definitely come back! It was so clean and just a beautiful setting! We love it here!"

"A peaceful and serene getaway! This home has the most gorgeous views! We enjoyed taking the kayaks out as well. Love Lake Blue ridge and the Blue ridge area in general. Lots of beautiful hiking just short drives from the cabin location. We only used the main level of the home, as it was just us and our pups- which was a perfect space for us. And also yes the drive up to the cabin is a bit nerve racking especially if you encounter a vehicle going in the opposite direction - but worth it. Highly recommend The Blue Canoe!"

"Beautiful views and a clean cabin. Comfy and contemporary furnishings. The two master suites and two additional bedrooms with their own bathrooms plus a bunk area is ideal for two families with kids. The beds have very comfortable mattresses too. The pool table cues could use some attention but that’s about the only critique we had. All in all a wonderful rental and we’d recommend it to others. "

"We had the best time and had a great stay at Jack Bear's cabin!! This cabin is so cute and quaint and exactly what my little family of 4 needed for our stay in Blue Ridge!! The cabin is so clean and looks just as pictured! We didn't realize though how far back in the woods the cabin was, and how the road leading to it would be. Just be prepared to go through a tiny gravel mountain road with lots of hills, twist and turns. And while this cabin is great and perfect, you have to allow at least 20-30 minutes from it to get anywhere in Blue Ridge or to do any of the activities around the area. Everything is just so spread out!! We did try to find the trail that is talked about in the listing to get to the river for our kids to play but it was not clearly marked at all and so we didn't get to play much around our cabin like we thought we would. They need to clearly mark a trail to hike to get to the river because it isn't far at all from the cabin it's just not a great walk if you try and find it. We would definitely stay here again but also wouldn't mind staying somewhere closer to town and more on the river for kids to play!!"
