Over the past few years this place has made some great changes! Nice event location, outdoor patio, lobby is clean offering drinks, some hot foods, soon desserts. Good free breakfast!!
Bathroom towels are nice and fluffy, bed was comfy sheets were a little too stiff for me but they were clean and workable. We didn't get to use the pool but know that it is outdoors, they do have a sister hotel down the road with an indoor pool you can go use.
Not all rooms have a view, but if your lucky enough to get one you'll have a great view of the damn.
Overall this is a hidden gem now.
My favorite place to stay in The Dalles. The staff is very friendly and attentive. A little off the beaten path but, well work it. A few months ago therw was live music on the patio and good conversation with others there. Great for families too.
I like older motels which are often more soundproof. There was no hideous, stained motel carpet. Instead, there was nice, clean laminate. The view was outstanding. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool looked very inviting although I didn’t go in. Very good value for the price. The bed was comfortable and I loved that I could open the window for cool night air. Nice artwork on the wall. It didn’t feel cheap. I’ve been in expensive, new, modern hotels that felt very cheap, with blank walls and windows that didn’t open; hated it.
Great view of the river and Dalles Dam, Mount Hood from the outside eating area by lobby.
Expedia description of room did not say it was NOT a view room. I found that out when I checked in and front desk rep very nice but said it would be a 20$ charge to change to view room, which I declined.
Wonderful included breakfast in the lobby. You can also order pizza other snacks and fancy alcoholic drinks from the lobby to eat/drink in inside or outside dining areas with views of Columbia River.
Showerhead was too high up for a short person to reach for adjustment.
Yes I would definitely recommend this reasonablly priced hotel with excellent staff at front desk.
One of my favorite places to stay in Oregon..Love the view, the people and the anti corporate feel. Will always stay here when heading East in the Gorge
We used to enjoying staying here but the last few visits have not been so nice. Used to be super nice and clean. This time I move the garbage can and there was garbage behind it. ☹️
Staff was fabulous. The room was clean. Area was quiet. Bed was very comfortable. Morning coffee in my room was difficult to access because cord to multi outlet power strip surge protector was way too short.
The room was very good for a single traveler. The morning breakfast hit the spot - biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were quite tasty.
