"I have stayed in a few hotels in Oaxaca city thru out years. This is one of the best when it comes to location and price. Over the years Oaxaca has become a tourist mecca. For this reason the prices on hotels have sometime more than doubled. This a great hotel to come and rest after a long day. Clean and friendly staff with WiFi that works from anywhere on the hotel is a plus. Location is great, walking distance from many restaurants and the great neighborhood of Jalatlaco. Would definitely recommend this hotel."

"Casa Vertiz is a lovely old property that has been restored with lovely touches and beautiful details. It sits in a perfect spot near all of downtown touring spots , so very walkable. The staff is kind and property secured with guard by10 pm. My only complaint is the noise from maids and personnel inside, as it is a small “hotel”. I specifically asked for an upstairs room ( noting other reviews about noise) and they were not able to accommodate. Altogether a nice stay but small rooms and bit noisy. "
