"Highly recommend staying at Casa Sofi for your trip to Oaxaca. Excellent host that greeted us with the best tasting Mezcal. The room is very comfortable and the property is centrally located to everything. The grounds itself is very clean and safe. There is a communal kitchen that has everything to prepare a meal or store your leftovers in the refrigerator. Can’t wait to go back. "

"The hotel was very nice, comfortable bed, good breakfast. The area is quiet, but still close enough to the city center. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue was we were put in a room that was right at the front entrance to the hotel and across the hall from the reception. No room should be in this particular location. As a result, it lacked privacy.

"The Hotel is beautiful and unbelievable. It is perfectly situated near the center plaza and you can walk in any direction and find food. The room was cute, cozy and it felt great to come back to the room and relax. I couldn't have asked for better hotel. When I come back to Oaxaca, I will be staying here again. "

"It was a very nice stay, we had a large group and everyone enjoyed the hotel and how close it was to everything we needed. They also hooked us up with an excellent tour guide who we traveled with the entire time. "
"Todo fue excelente. El personal, súper amable y siempre atento. El hotel es bello, brinda mucha comodidad y paz, y realmente superó mis expectativas. El desayuno estuvo delicioso y pasé unos días perfectos. Además, la ubicación es ideal. ¡Gracias por hacer mi estancia tan bonita!"
"Beautiful decorated hotel. Very nice staff. Walking distance to the Zócalo , Cathedral, Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the artisan markets. Breakfast excellent."
"Casa Vertiz is a lovely old property that has been restored with lovely touches and beautiful details. It sits in a perfect spot near all of downtown touring spots , so very walkable. The staff is kind and property secured with guard by10 pm.
My only complaint is the noise from maids and personnel inside, as it is a small “hotel”.
I specifically asked for an upstairs room ( noting other reviews about noise) and they were not able to accommodate. Altogether a nice stay but small rooms and bit noisy.
