This is basically a hostel with private rooms. The floor rug was in terrible condition. It was dirty and with holes. The walls are paper thin and you hear your neighbors. The room doors are thin and with key locks. I was sleeping one night and woke because I thought someone was entering the room. It was my neighbor returning.

Spent 6nights here when we first arrived we were turned off as I read in the reviews hotel is a little old and is outdated. However after the first night then it was okay because we really werent in the room during the day hours. So by the time you get to the room your showering to be ready for the next day. Room service is done everyday and the staff is really nice. The supply coffee and some continental sweets in the mornings which was awesome when you your up and out to tour by 6 or 7am. Saving the best for last about this little hotel is the LOCATION! The absoulte best thing you appreciate bout this plce. Beach is 7min walk away so are the main Blvds and shopping areas. It is in the perrrfeecctt location. So if your not too picky about modern style furniture in your room then this place will be jist fine. We had no issues. Just had to adjust to it. Really isnt bad. 3 star hotel with a 4 star location.

Not a nice hotel
The stafff was friendly but the rooms smell and are not of good quality. They did not honor my request for a refund on nights unused. Very disappointed.

Small
The room was small but expected. The only complaint we had was that there had been smoking in the room and the night manager told us the smoke was from outside. The widows were closed. The other issues was the cover on the bed was small. It only covered the top of the bed, no extra room for both of us.

Convenient but mediocre accommodations
Minimal water flow, lukewarm at any setting. Bare-bones room. OK if you don't plan to spend any time except sleeping in it. Staff was pleasant. I asked a front-desk person for help calling the airline, said he was too busy, but other desk people were pleasant. Bed cover was dirty, so they changed it. Would not recommend it.

For some reason my account is under my wife's name, Jennifer Crakow. My name is Joel Schalit, and I stayed at the Sun-Aviv Wed night through Sunday AM. The room was disgusting and bore no relation to images shown online. It as a smokers' room, and I had reserved and received confirmation for a non-smoker's room. All my clothes smell. The breakfast was advertised differently - a dining room was in the hotel's Flickr account. The coffee and muffins were Israel circa 1975. Really gross. The only saving grace was the price and the neighborhood. Otherwise you guys get an F for misadvertising. I never would have stayed at the hotel if I'd seen the room firsthand. I did complain about the smoking issue, and nothing was done about it. Also, the room was freezing and had insufficient beddint.

Nice petit breakfast, always coffee, tea. Fridge in room, CLEAN, friendly, helpful staff. Bus, supermarket, Shalom Tower across street. 5 min walk to beach. Right off Hertzel/Rothschild. 20 min walk to Jaffa. Mini kitchen one can use too. I liked it.

Unclean and Falling Apart
I came for one night in between two organized trips I was leading. I lived in Tel Aviv for many years and know that there are some buildings that aren't up to American standards but this was disgusting. The walls were cracked, the fire detector was falling off the ceiling, the shower had no curtain, the walls had holes in them, and the air conditioning was broken. To top it all off, the hotel allows smoking in the rooms, which they claimed to be legal though I know it not to be. The smell was disgusting on top of everything else. If I hadn't been so tired, I would have found another hotel but decided to stay just to have a bed to sleep in, though I was very afraid there would be bed bugs.

Decent for the price and last minute bookings
If you're traveling solo and don't want a Hostel, this is probably the best. It's walking distance to the beach and a great location for being the center of Tel Aviv. However, the rooms are small and dingy. Essentially you get what you pay for. My room was dark, a smoking room (even though I asked for a non-smoking room), there were a few hairs in my bed sheets, but other than that, it was clean (ie clean bathroom), the TV had some English stations and AC worked well. For $80/night, it was good enough to just put your stuff there and sleep for the night.

Good place to grab some snoozes for cheap
I will go back to this hotel for a one night sleep after getting off a long flight. It had a very comfortable bed and met my needs for one night. It would not be my choice for many nights in a row because it has no elevator and I would want more of a breakfast option.

As a low cost unromantic hotel it fits the bill perfectly. I found the bathroom to be unusually large and spacious and the room itself copious without feeling squeezed. Fridge was provided and the community kitchen they have let's you do your own thing.

We were looking for a hotel with a central location and not a huge price tag. This hotel worked for us. Rooms are modest but have what one needs for a night's stay. Parking is an issue but the friendly staff makes up for this shortcoming.

Great Location
We only stayed here for 5 hours bcs we had to leave for the airport at 3am. We liked the location in city center. Felt safe. Reserved bcs was very inexpensive, cheapest available and very good value for the money. Not a luxury hotel, but the receptionist at night was very friendly and helpful and rooms were clean and air-conditioned. Parking was difficult. Loved the neighborhood.

Good location and good price!
A great little spot. Very friendly hotel staff who are there 24/7. The rooms are really clean, and the beds are comfy. The small but clean bathroom was better than we expected. The decor and carpets are certainly dated, but it doesn't really matter. The location is great, we were a 10 minute walk to everywhere we wanted to go! Lots of small shops nearby and the beach is not too far. Overall we were happy with this place and stayed for four nights although we only planned to stay for two. Tel Aviv is such an expensive city, this was quite a good deal.

Good location
My room was very comfortable for a short visit to Tel Aviv. Near to the beach and to the market, as well as to trendy streets with boutiques and restaurants. I found the room quite clean and with everything I needed, and the staff were helpful and friendly. I only wished the breakfast were better--at least some fresh fruit or fresh bread would be appreciated.

The Sun Aviv's location is excellent for a person who enjoys walking around the city. It is close to the big Allenby avenue and the Rothchild Boulevard that takes you to the Charles Bronfmann Auditorium which is the house of the Israel Philarmonic Orchestra. It is next to the Shalom Tower where you can get changed the dollars into shekels. It is walking distance to beach in the Mediterranean Sea.

Decent place to stay, good value
The room was decent, good value, location was central to trendy restaurants and bars, close to city bike hire hubs. You could hear some noise from the hallway and the other bathrooms, but not too bad. WiFI didn't work consistently and had to access it in the stairwell so that was a major downside.

Overpriced, damp and dirty rooms.
Needing to stay within my budget, I chose this place because of price and location. The staff was courteous, but the place was disappointing. The rooms were smelly, the dirty carpet damp, the bathroom old and not very clean. The tiny hotel is not well maintained and the photos don't show what it's like. I do not recommend it.

Within walking distance to Jaffa
Convenient location with easy access to the beach and within walking distance to Jaffa. Hotel is clean and comfortable with basic necessities and free wifi. Would not hesitate to stay here again. The spelling on the street address is "Montifiori" but actual street sign is spelt "Montefiore". The Jerusalem taxi driver had difficulty locating it on his GPS. The spelling should be corrected.

Good Location For One Night
The hotel was fine for us to be our last night in Israel and because its close to the airport, but what didn´t like for sure, it is that has no elevator being our room in the third floor and also it has no parking onsite, which cost us more money than we expected when you are renting a car.

Good, basic, inexpensive hotel
For what we paid, this hotel is comfortable and located across the street from a grocery store, pharmacy, and we were able to park our car on the street overnight till early morning. The hotel and surround blocks feel very safe. We were also able to walk, 7 minutes to the huge outdoor market. There are a few parking lot s within 1 block walk, charging only $8 for overnight parking. Small breakfast room with hot beverages, juice, and cakes in the morning. No elevator that I saw. The hallways are a bit noisy in the morning so bring some earplugs.

A pleasant place to stay.
This is a good, reasonably priced place to stay in Tel Aviv. It is ten minutes walk to beautiful beaches. As Tel Aviv is centrally located in Israel it makes convenient access to the North (Acre, Ceaserea, Haifa, etc.) and to Jerusalem (45 minutes by bus). The hotel itself is fine. It's not luxurious, but the rooms are clean and tastefully (if modestly) decorated. I don't think anyone visits Israel to spend their time lying about their hotel. If like myself, you are mainly concerned about a decent place to stay as you visit Israel Sun Aviv is recommended. The staff is friendly (although not particularly informed about tourist matters) and the neighbourhood is quiet. The lovely ancient town of Jaffa is less than thirty minutes walk from the hotel. That's likely your first destination in Tel Aviv and there's an excellent tourist information centre there. They can help plan your week's travels. Overall, for a visitor to Tel Aviv who doesn't want to break the bank, but have a clean and convenient place top stay, I can recommend Sun Aviv.

While I wouldn't recommend Tel-Aviv, if you're going to be there, this is a decent place to stay. The room was a good size with a spacious bathroom. It was located near a hipster neighborhood but was otherwise fine.

I found out there are plenty of other better optio
I would say that for a few bucks more you can get a much better hotel. The stuff was super helpful and nice but the hotel itself is not that great. It is very old and outdated. My room was on the third floor but there was no elevator so I had to carry my luggage all the way up to the third floor. Also, it was kind of noisy and the worst was that the beds were as hard as a rock. I was able to sleep just because I was so tired of all the walking I did during the day.
