The best area to stay in Tanjung Riau is Nongsa, particularly along the coast.

Nongsa is known for its serene environment and luxurious resorts, offering a relaxing escape from the city. The area stretches along the northeastern coast of Batam Island, providing stunning views of the South China Sea. It's home to several high-end properties, many with private beaches and extensive facilities.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find Nongsa ideal. The resorts here often feature private villas, spa services, and fine dining options, great for a peaceful and indulgent holiday. Many resorts offer activities like golf and water sports directly on their premises.

For families, Nongsa also provides excellent options. Resorts in this area often have dedicated children's pools, kids' clubs, and a variety of recreational activities to keep everyone entertained.

The best time to go to Tanjung Riau is during the dry season, which runs from May to September.

During these months, you'll experience consistently sunny days and lower humidity, making it ideal for enjoying the island's outdoor activities and beaches. The sea conditions are also generally calmer, superb for water sports and boat trips to nearby islands. This is particularly good for couples looking for a relaxing beach holiday or families planning to spend time outdoors.

While the wet season (October to April) brings occasional heavy downpours, they often occur in short bursts, leaving plenty of sunshine in between. Travel during these months can offer good value, as there are typically fewer crowds and potentially lower prices for accommodations and flights.
