This place is amazing. We were picked up from the station and was an easy drive. Owned by a chef who cooked us the most amazing dinner and breakfast. Dinner was one of the best Italian meals I have had with fantastic service and great wine. Breakfast was also the best I have had in Japan as they are generally not that great at it. The bedding was comfortable and so warm. It was great to have a bath (onsen of sorts) at the end of a cold day. The only negative was it was a little bit far from town...

Hugely welcoming when you arrive. The staff are lovely and the hotel is spotless. We had breakfast (Japanese both days) and a dinner here, which was all superb. The hot bath is really well set up too. Hotel is between the station and old town, so a perfect location.

The only complaint would be that if you have expensive French champagne on the menu, keep it in the fridge! Especially on NYE. But other than that, this hotel is one of the best hotels I've stayed in.
