"Manseirou is a ryokan centrally located in the fishing port town of Katsuura. The ryokan is dated and much of the furnishings and amenities are old and fairly worn. Our Japanese-Western style room was comfortable, adequately sized and clean. Some of the furniture like the chairs and table were worn and stained, in need of replacement. The room's shower and bathtub were small and cramped which caused us to use the ryokan's furo (hot spring bath) facilities which are larger and provided a nice relaxing hot bath. As for the food, the breakfast and dinner (Japanese kaiseki style) meals were delicious and offered an outstanding variety of dishes. The ryokan's staff were courteous but had only limited English comprehension. Manseirou provides a fair to good comfortable accommodations at a budget price."
