The hotel was very nice and the staff were excellent. It is a smaller hotel in a rural type town and you got that small town care from the staff. They provided us with a triple room so we could have a double bed and helped make our stay very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with fresh fried eggs and a good selection of breads and other items. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a clean comfortable room in a smaller setting.

Good value for money hotel in Douro wine region. Little town from where you can discover the surrounding hills, viewpoints and Douro. Rooms were clean, decent and had proper bathroom.

Great place to stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I went with a group of friends. One of our friends didn’t have a room and they called around other hotels and found a room locally. Also recommended a great area restaurant and when we checked out we left a phone charger in the room and they came outside to bring it to us. Definitely will stay here and recommend it to others. The place and the staff made it a wonderful stay.

An unexpected find

The Douro Inn was an unexpected find way up in the hills above the Douro Valley. The room was large the bathroom clean and also spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. My only criticism would be the lack of a lift. Our room was on the second floor and there were a lot of stairs. For a hotel of that size I would have expected a lift.

A good hotel in a small town close to stunning scenery, including the Douro river valley which is within easy reach by car. Many scenic routes twisting and turning through the mountains, with tiny village houses clinging to the mountainside. I stopped my car to take photos of the morning mist filling the valley floor, with the mountains rising high above. There are monasteries and convents to visit, all centuries old. There is a safe in the room, but otherwise the room is spartan and basic - for example no rugs on the floor in the bedroom. Breakfast is fine with a good choice of food. The female staff were friendly and welcoming, only the male receptionist in his 40s wasn't terribly friendly.

We did not had breakfast at the hotel. The air conditionning was noisy and some dogs close to the hotel barked all night. Very annoying. Renovation was made with low budget.

Douro Inn Stay

The breakfast was good. When they know when people are coming they should leave the AC on…it run the whole night and even so the room didn’t get cool. Otherwise our stay was good.

Stay Away or you will regret it!

Pictures online misrepresent this property. Terrible location, dirty, unkempt, noisy Main Street. No one at reception for 2PM check. My photos represent what it really looks like.

A unica coisa que tenho a reclamar á muitos anos sao as Janelas. Ouve-se tudo como se estive-se a Janela aberta. Muitos clientes reclamao o mesmo, mas o proprietário do Hotel ou seija os verdeiros sò querem facturar e nao gastar!! Ganhao á custa do cliente. Mas o Pessoal é 5 estrelas e a limpeza tb.
