THE GREAT THINGS: Absolutely best variety buffet breakfast anywhere! Well worth the additional expense. Superb!! Tapas menu $8 Calamari the best I’ve ever had! I’d go back just for this. Really nice bar outlook. As a solo traveller I didn’t feel awkward at all having a drink during Happy Hour, it was quiet anyway.
Get a room in Bayview (if you are a solo or couple) and ask for one overlooking park (not the street), with a bath (not all rooms have this so check) much nicer than Pacific which was an outdated room with shower only (9305)
Stephanie’s Spa, whilst expensive, is worth the splurge.
NOT SO GREAT: Check in by Emma was officious, not welcoming, just an “are you checking in? Can I see you photo ID” No “welcome to Peppers”, no smile, or any genuine cheeriness. Also, a request for a room change was met with a smirk from Emma to her colleague. I felt terrible. The assistant manager did her best to move me, and I was very happy with this room change from 9305 (no spa bath, entirely cracked vanity, well-used TV remote control where the channel key is so used you can’t see the up/down arrows, scarily loose power point in bathroom), to 8404 (with spa bath, a better park view, a new remote control, no loose powerpoints, an extra lounge chair. I’ve also previously stayed in 8305 which was similarly fantastic, with parking right outside, so no steps, although there is a lift to the underground car park.
Pool is full of noisy kids, so I used the quiet outdoor lap pool
