At this extensive ski resort in Mad River Valley you can navigate trails through wooded areas or try skiing for the first time on the dedicated "go slow" slopes.

Sugarbush Ski Resort is a favoured snowfield in Northern Vermont, where the Mad River Valley sweeps up to the summits of Mount Ellen and Lincoln Peak. Explore an exciting range of ski trails, from beginner runs to black-diamond terrain. Ride the modern ski lifts to well-maintained ski fields or search for fresh powder on the resort’s backcountry ski areas.

Explore the two main mountain areas, Mount Ellen and Lincoln Peak, which are split by the rugged terrain of Slide Brook Basin. Lincoln Peak is the larger ski area, comprising of 72 of the resort’s 111 runs. Both peaks feature charming ski village areas with equipment rental facilities, cosy lodges and dining options.

If you didn’t bring your own gear, get fitted out with equipment at the rental facilities. You can explore over 570 acres (230 hectares) of skiable terrain at Sugarbush Ski Resort. Beginners can try the gentle green-graded runs and magic carpet-style ski lifts at Lincoln Peak while more experienced skiers and boarders can carve up the intermediate, advanced and expert runs. Improve your technique with private or group lessons. Experts can take on the dizzying maze-like runs of Castlerock Peak and Rumble Woods, where steep wooded trails give way to sheer cliffs. Mount Ellen features the resort’s mogul run and a comprehensive terrain park.

Go on a guided tour and access the challenging off-piste area in the Slide Brook Basin wilderness. A 2-mile (3.2 kilometre) express quad chairlift sails over the top of this zone and connects the two peaks of Mount Ellen and Lincoln Peak on busy days. Otherwise, catch the convenient shuttle bus.

Take a break or grab a meal at one of the resort’s cosy lodges.  A wide range of accommodation options are available.

Sugarbush Ski Resort is located in Warren, Vermont. Burlington International Airport is 45 minutes’ drive away. Rental cars are available at the airport. Alternatively, catch the Amtrak train service to nearby Waterbury and Rutland. A free bus service connects several points in the Mad River Valley from December through March, the resort’s ski season.
