I was happy with the size of room,even had a sofa! What I didn't like was that we had people walk right in our room with their luggage!! That should never happen; double book a room. Do I hear a comp coming??

Receptionist was not at front deak when we arrived, after 5 mins she came and didn’t say hello or sorry I was not there. She straight asked if we are checking in, rude tone and body language. Things happen sometimes but I was a little upset at the fact we had checked in and got our key cards. found the room and used the bathroom and sat for a minute before we went out to grab something to eat after asking advice at the same front desk. After returning I found we couldn’t get into the room. I Went to the front desk again and was told I never checked in and someone else had been checked into the room. We were given another room and i was too tired to vent on deaf ears.

The old worn down La Quinta is now a renovated HIE making our stay much more comfortable. Of course the State of Vermont’s policy of buying out hotels for homeless and migrants makes the cost of our stay relatively expensive compared to such properties in other states.

Husband liked the property

My husband stayed here for work and said overall it was 4/5 stars -- nothing wrong with it, just not anything overly special, either! He'd stay here again and found it comfortable for working in that area.

Property was as expected for convenience and price. Was noisy including AC equipment. Could hear other guests. Large hairy dogs in dining area just gross. Also there was a 12 year old softball tournament this weekend. The children were great. However the parents doing the children’s hair styles while in breakfast mode & area is not hygienic.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express St. Albans and had a good freezing cold Vermont experience. Hotel is situated about 30 minutes South of Burlington which is convenient when blizzards aren't around.
