The check in process, was easy. The staff at Heritage Harbor reached out and sent emails with amenities available so we would be ready to go when we got there. "We loved being right on the water and watching the bardges go by. The bed wasn't the most comfortable and 1 of the TV's didn't work. But having a kitchenette meant we could make our breakfasts and snadwiches before going for hikes. We've already talked about staying again, but maybe a different cottage. "

"This property has SO much potential! The area is gorgeous, pool wonderful (although cold bc not heated), vicinity of amenities is wonderful and Starved Rock State Park just 10 mi away is awesome... but the upkeep was awful. And, service at the Red Dog Restaurant on site was awful. Unfortunately, overgrown weeds, broken bedroom blinds, a dirty bathroom, and lack of amenities we actually used were not worth the price. We couldn't wait to get home. :("

"Good location, to go from a D to a B grade it could use new sheets, replace the cracked toilet seat, clean the blood off the front door, fix the broken board on the entrance stair, buy a replacement freezer door handle for the white Frigidaire refrigerator, put hangers in the closets and steam clean the carpets, probably can be done under $400"
