About this property
Sandstone • Hot Tub, Deck & Forest Views, Pets OK!
Summary:
Sandstone is a classic, pet-friendly cabin tucked into the Twin Arch neighborhood of the Red River Gorge. Designed for couples, this cozy retreat sits just minutes from the Nada Tunnel, Toad’s Barn & Grill, and popular northern Gorge hiking areas. With a spacious deck, hot tub, and forest views, Sandstone offers a quiet place to unwind while staying close to the area’s most well-known attractions.
The Space:
Sandstone is a traditional one-bedroom cabin with a warm, comfortable layout. Inside, the living room features floor-to-ceiling windows, a cozy seating area, and a smart TV for streaming via personal hotspot (no Wi-Fi). The full kitchen provides everything needed for simple meals, and the bedroom includes a queen bed. A full bathroom with a stand-up shower and a washer and dryer are also available for guest use.
Outside, the cabin’s large deck is split between covered and open-air spaces. The uncovered side features a hot tub ideal for stargazing, while the covered section offers seating and a table overlooking the trees and valley below. A charcoal grill and firepit are located closer to the parking area. Parking is available for one vehicle, with approximately 50 steps leading up to the cabin.
Other Things to Note:
Road that leads to the cabin is STEEP. The steepest sections are paved while the rest is well maintained gravel. The road is passable in a compact car with 2wd during normal conditions (icy conditions make this road very difficult to navigate!)
We provide a starter amount of the following: hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dish pods, laundry pods, and basic cleaning supplies. Any additional items needed will be the guest's responsibility to supply. We do not supply anything considered perishable or consumable, this includes but is not limited to, coffee, salt, pepper, oil and the like.
- Pets are allowed at this cabin. We charge a flat pet fee of $50 for up to two pets. Please be sure to add any pets to your reservation. If you do not see where to do so, reach out to us so we can apply our pet fee.
- The TV is a smart TV but apps will only work with a hot spot since this cabin does not have Wi-Fi. There is a DVD player, guests are asked to provide their own DVDs.
- There is a charcoal grill located next to the fire pit. Guests are asked to provide their own charcoal, lighter fluid and firewood if intending to use these amenities.
- There is private parking at the cabin for one vehicle.
- Please note, there might be construction projects nearby, primarily limited to weekdays and daytime hours. While we anticipate minimal disruption to your stay, occasional construction noise may occur. We do not have access or information on construction schedules.
- Please ensure to enter a VALID and operational phone number into your account/reservation as all of your information regarding your stay will be texted to your phone. Thank you!

Well equipped cabin in the mountains. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs, but well worth the view. Only real issue is I wish there was a better path to the fire pit.
Perfect for our 15th anniversary. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect size for 2 people. Very clean. The road leading up to it was a little steep, but our 2WD had no issue climbing up to the cabin. While there is no real "view," the privacy was perfect! Other houses were around, but everyone had their privacy, and no one was looking into each other's windows. There are several steps, so if stairs are an issue for you, you may need to book another cabin of theirs that doesn't have as many. But it was not an issue for us.
Thank you again! We will definitely keep yall in mind if we are ever back out to RRG!😊

This property is perfect for two people wanting to explore Red River Gorge. Clean cabin. Had a nice fully stocked kitchen. The hot tub was okay. The second night it smelled like mildew so bad we could t enjoy it . I did text the property manager about it and they offered to come work on it but it was too late by then. We wanted to enjoy after a long day of hiking. If stairs are hard for you this is not the property for you . It is 50 stairs to get to the cabin. Also the drive to this cabin had a big hill asked the drive way is small and in a hill.over we had a good experience. Just wish they maintained the hot tub better .
We stayed at the Sandstone Cabin from June 14th through 18th for our 16th anniversary. The cabin is beautiful and made a perfect destination for our anniversary getaway. We loved that it was secluded, yet not too far away from restaurants, hikes, and things to do! Some of our favorite parts of the trip were…the “cell phone tower” hike, the hike is kind of difficult however the reward at the end made it well worth the sweat…the natural spring is just down the road and is some of the best tasting water ever!…the Natural Bridge and sky lift were so fun, and there are some trails off the bridge that are not populated but so beautiful!…Make the drive to Creation Falls! It’s beautiful and not a terribly long hike! Some restaurants we recommend are La Cabaña, Toads, and Daniel Boone Coffee! The General Store has the BEST fudge, and the attached ice cream shop is a must!
Some notes:
-Bring bug spray, and beware of the bees on the porch!
-There are many steps from where you park to get to the front door, is stairs aren’t your thing, skip this cabin.
-The road to the cabin is VERY steep and very narrow. We drove an AWD equinox and had no problems at all, but a 2WD vehicle might struggle to get up the steep parts. (We know this isn’t specific to this cabin, but feel it should be shared)
-There is no WiFi, but we used the hotspot on our phones to watch TV.
All that being said, we would ABSOLUTELY stay here again! We loved every moment!
Just what I needed for a brief stay. Close to Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. The road would definitely make me nervous in winter but for fall, it was perfect.
This cabin is in a great location, far enough away from main roads but close enough to most of the trails we were looking to hike. The cabin is the perfect size for two and we really enjoyed our stay!
My wife and I enjoyed our 2 night stay. It has everything one needs for a short stay. Very cute and comfortable cabin! The hot tub was perfect! On the Downside, the sheets were very cheap, rough, and uncomfortable. All in all, nice. We would stay there again

The property overall was good. The cabin itself was great! The decking surrounding the cabin and the stairs leading up to it need a good power washing and water sealed or just redone. We could see where they have replaced some of the boards, whichis good. The inside was clean and neat. Our bed was comfortable and having the washer and dryer was handy. We really liked the private cabin in the woods feel we got from this place. We would stay there again for another getaway.

Warning-60 stairs to it!
The cabin was clean; we had no idea there were 60 stairs up to it! For older folks, this was a challenge. Very minimal amenities-could use a few more towels, additional pans, etc. in kitchen. The GFI p on the
GREAT Location ! download and save the directions before because the address is not accurate on any of the maps. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner. Only 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels TOTAL in the whole place so you should bring your own if plan to do anything but shower more than 1 or 2 times. Bed was comfy, dvds were fine bc you are out most of the time! Would avoid if elderly or little children. Spiders and webs everywhere !! not anyones fault (place was clean) just think you should know if its a real fear for you - but if it is you probably dont vacation in the woods ! Perfect spot if you are headed to RRG, location perfect, lots of cute places. Mexican restaurant was our fav !
