"ROOM I had the Casita Deluxe (villa type accomodation). There are only two of these available. Both front the water and I would consider them the best option for the hotel. Coming in second best is the casita rooms, I think there is between 3-5 of these rooms available. Only one fronts onto the water, but the others are still lovely and you can see the water from the front balcony. Double gem is one of the best resorts along corongcorong. There are maybe 2 fancy ones, but a very different price range. There is room for improvement. The room and sheets were clean. Clean towels were given. The safe worked. Aircon and fridges always worked well. LOCATION The location of corong corong is good - many options for convenience stores, laundry, food etc. it has everything. It is only a 10 min trike to the other more northern el nido beach location which is 100-150 peso. I’d prefer to stay on corongcorong as you can swim in the beach and it has beautiful sunsets (unlike el nido beach). SERVICES The service from all of the workers is great. Jong from the bar (with the little ponytail) was so happy and helpful all of the time. We watched him deal with some unpleasant people and he handled it very well. Always made great drinks and had great service. Jovert (I think is his name) helped with our bags, and anything we needed help with. We would be sitting at the pool and he would be rushing by to help guests, all with a smile. BREAKFAST "

"What was lacking in the actual facility (see below) was made up for by the incredible staff at Stunning Republic BR. Booking transportation and day excursions was a breeze, and the breakfast was top-notch (both Filipino and American Style). You order from a menu but can mix and match. Typhoon “Tito” hit El Nido when I was there. I can’t think of a better place to weather the storm - the building was solid, staff were always conscious of guests’ safety and comfort, everyone was updated on storm conditions, flights, etc. In the midst of heavy winds and rain, the staff made breakfast and hand delivered it (running across the open area in poncho’s) to residents. The pot of coffee was no small task since the power was out! After the typhoon passed, staff cleared fallen trees, debris, broken glass immediately. In the evening, they prepared a special meal for guests with food provided to them - it’s a breakfast only resort but most restaurants were closed. SRBR is a dated resort with basic amenities. My second floor room had a great ocean view and balcony. The dining area is covered but open air and has fabulous sunset views. The beach is very small. The area around the hotel is safe - a short walk to many restaurants, massage, tour bookings and shops. The rooms - our group had three - were dated, run-down furniture, comfortable beds, and everything worked (shower, tv, plugs). I missed having a small fridge and hair dryer. Many thanks to the staff for EVERYTHING !!"

"The staff at this resort truly made our stay unforgettable! This has easily become my favourite place in the Philippines, and I’m so glad we chose to stay here. My partner and I booked the Executive Suite with a stunning private pool — pure luxury! While there was a small technical issue with the pool lights, it didn’t take away from what was an incredible 10/10 experience overall. We even had the chance to chat with some of the staff and the manager, all of whom went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect."

"My husband and I spent our 3rd honeymoon at this property and we had an amazing stay. The staff was very communicative and the shuttle to and from Vanilla Beach daily was a nice perk. Getting to the resort can be a little challenging considering it’s sitting on top of a very steep hill. But the view is the best I’ve seen! We would definitely stay here again! "
