"The room was fine, the was all the basic amenities you would expect and a fan, which was very much needed in the hot weather. In the small bathroom, the shower enclosure had mould in places and the extractor fan had a lot of dust (?) on it. The housekeeping staff ignored the fact I said I did not need anything doing in the room on the second day and came in the room when I was out. This was possibly due to poor language skills, however the wish of a guest and their right to privacy should be respected, whether they are in the room or not, as long as there is no proper reason to check a room. This was the first time this has happened to me in a hotel, usually you can either put a 'do not disturb' or 'no housekeeping' note on the door or tell staff your wishes and they do not enter your room. The room had very creaky floors, despite the thick carpet, it is an old hotel with no lift, but it is set in lovely grounds with some beautiful trees, so a pleasant place to stay which is a short walk from shops and eating places."
