We often host engagements, (we love assisting with the surprise), mini-moons, honeymoons, significant birthday and anniversary stays. Truly a remarkably romantic place to stay and an ideal location to pop the question! If you want to make someone feel special book to stay at The Beach Bungalow.

The Beach Bungalow is a perfect haven for those looking to escape the hectic pace of everyday life. A place where you can wake up in a king size bed and look straight onto St. Ives Bay and Godrevy lighthouse. Watch the ebb and flow of the tide, whilst having your morning tea or coffee. Alternatively enjoy a relaxing hot soak on the terrace overlooking the bay in the private hot tub whether morning, noon or night! If you wish to be active you can step out of the door and walk on the dunes or beach comb in St. Ives Bay. There is a private garden and patio with the private hot tub where you can eat outside whilst watching the sunset over the bay. There is a pool at the location that maybe available should the neighbouring property not be occupied. Alternatively, there is a TV , Blu ray DVD player and wifi. Lelant, the birthplace of Rosamunde Pilcher, is conveniently located near to St. Ives, but remains a peaceful and relaxed village even in the height of summer. The Eden Project is within easy distance to visit for the day, as are many of Cornwall's tourist destinations. A great location, especially of interest to golfers, walkers, painters, ornithologists, kayakers, windsurfers and anglers.
Modern fully equipped kitchen including cooker, hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher, toaster and kettle. Well stocked with cookware and tableware. Solid beech wood work surfaces, ceramic sink. Open plan living area with ample sofa seating. Free view TV and DVD player. Large selection of films and documentaries available. Bookshelves with large selection of books and games. Dining area with table and seating for ten, with chairs positioned by patio windows with sea views Fresh towels, bathrobes and bedlinen are provided. The property is thoroughly cleaned after each guest vacates. For stays of more than one week, all sheets and towels will be changed and the accommodation will be vacuumed.
Guests are able to park for free at the Church or we can assist in organising parking on the nearby quay 200-250m along the beach from the house. There is no vehicle parking at the property as it is located on the beach and so guests should be able to walk 200m to get in and out of the property. Any questions concerning mobility and access please get in contact.
The house has a modern wood burning stove as well as modern electric radiators. High chairs and travel cot are available on request. The Beach Bungalow is suitable for children.
The Beach Bungalow is a truly stunning location for painters to experience the special 'light' of St.Ives Bay. The location inspired John Miller to paint world famous seascape and images of the views.
May to Aug is a good time for Anglers to fish for bass from the Beach. Kayakers and gig rowers are seen daily on the estuary. Hayle Towans on the opposite side of the estuary is a popular surfing, kite-surfing and wind surfing beach. The Hayle estuary is the most southerly estuary in the UK and the last stopping spot on mainland UK for migrating birds. It is therefore a RSPB reserve. Walkers can step out the door and walk the Hayle to St Ives section of the South West Coastal Route.
The famous local author Rosamunde Pilcher has recently described the walk to the house as her favourite walk: "My favourite walk is at Lelant, down the road past the church onto the golf course. You see the bay and the colours, and it's never the same - it's just perfect."
Established in 2008 The Baech Bungalow is one of our three Beach Pads. Located on Porthkidney Sands Beach with its golden expansive sands, Beach Pads three beach front holiday homes have been running and accepting guests since 2008. The first being the the home and art studio of the Cornish/St. Ives artist John Miller and where he painted his iconic beach paintings. The beach outside being the "King of The Beach" on the Album Cover of the same name by Chris Rea was painted at "The Beach House" in the 1990s by John Miller, who was also the best friend of Spy Novelist John Le Carre a frequent visitor to the Beach Bungalow. Along with Ruth Aspinall the writer and former owner of The Ferry House the location has always been a magnet for artistic inspiration. When you stay you will easily see why.
We truly understand how hard everyone works these days and that there is so much pressure and stress in every day life. Holiday and down time is very precious. We therefore feel it is our duty when we are chosen as a holiday destination to show our appreciation and do what we can to make sure you “feel the love.”
We know we have the keys to a magical destination. We want to share that with our guests so that they too can tap into the peace and calm that our guests repeatedly enjoy having stayed at Beach Pads. The remarkable experience of staying at Beach Pads provides many of our guests with precious memories, that feel better, are worth more and last longer than many life’s more fleeting likes.
All of the Beach Pads Team including the Housekeepers, the Gardeners, Maintenance Team as well as our award winning village cake maker @TheLittle HomeBakery have all been part of the at Beachpads Team for over 5 years. Some since the beginning when the family first opened the doors to The Beach House back in 2008. We can sincerely say that all members of the team aim for our guests to have a wonderful and special experience. We all work hard to ensure that our guests make wonderful memories during their time being at the Beach Pads.
We are a member of The Professional Association of Self Caterers and are approved as “Visitor Ready” by the AA and Visit England and are in the South West Coastal Route Accommodation guide due to our proximity of being located on the Coastal Footpath. A great spot to walk the first UK Section of the Camino!

wonderful location and a great place to stay
We were all well looked after from beginning to end and felt very relaxed. The house has all you would need for a great holiday.
The views are amazing. Thank you we will return.
Beautiful we can’t fault it, it was better than the pictures, all of us agree one of our best holidays, in an idyllic spot with the most stunning views , the property has everything you could possibly need and the email with the information was extremely detailed all of my family would highly recommend.
Great week away at Ferrymans Rest. Lovely clean house on Arrival with some great welcome gifts that the whole family enjoyed. Great views from the patio for people watching and an amazing beach right on the doorstep. Comfy beds at the end of the day ensured a week of relaxing was a total success.
a wonderful place to get away to a calm relaxing holiday place .
We had a wonderful time here , the location is amazing with the beach only a few steps away . It has amazing views .The hot tub was a lovely addition as was the log burner . Would say that it advertised for 10 people which might be a squeeze but other than that it’s fabulous.
We had a lovely stay at the Beach Bungalow in October. The location is unbelievably beautiful and the bungalow is cosy and homely. Would thoroughly recommend. Dog adored it and tried to drag us down to the beach every time we went out. Nicola was really helpful in arranging for our stay incl our late arrival and daft questions when we got there!
We had such a lovely week by the beach in the Ferrymans cottage. Perfect location. Great for the kids, dog and grown ups! We enjoyed exploring Leland and even made it into st Ives for a day by train and we’re thankful we were staying in our quite corner by the beach than in the crazy-ness that was st Ives.
We loved surfing and stand up paddle boarding. The dog loved chasing seagulls (and trains which was less good). But we all had a ball. The house was an easy beach house and perfect for what we needed.
The rubbish was a bit daunting but the recycling centre is so close that when we went we were left wondering why we were so worried about it. Easy peasy.
Thanks and we look forward to coming back!

The listing could be clearer about the fact that there is no vehicle access to the property and that it is a 250 metre walk down to the house. Whilst the details do advise that it is not wheelchair friendly clarity on the lack of vehicle access would be far better. There was also an issue with rubbish disposal as there is no refuse collection at the property and only once we had paid for the property was this disclosed. Whilst I sympathise with the owners on this issue, I do not expect to have to dispose of refuse myself given that amount paid for a week's rental, I believe that the owners should make alternative arrangements.
Situated right above the river this place is perfect to watch the tides come and go. The house is right next to the coast path, so you have to walk a bit to get there.

Beautiful location.
Quirky property with amazing views of river and beach. Walk from house to beach a in minutes and on sw coastal footpath, also providing gorgeous views. Upstairs double bedroom very low ceiling suited my teenager but tall guests might have found this room challenging, 3 further bedrooms on ground floor all good size. TV position on wall could be altered for more comfortable viewing. Kitchen and living space worked well in all other ways tho only just enough settee seatingfor 5 people at once. Don't try to flag down train at Lelant station as it doesn't routinely stop here, walk further on to Lelant Saltings where you can be sure to get on. Beautiful spot would be hard to beat for beach access and views.

perfect location, lovely house, fantastic
Great place! Everything was exactly as advertised. The house is well equipped, lovely and warm and a wood burner to crank it up! Right on the beach so when the tide was out walked we over the sands to St.Ives. The weather was wet and windy so never used the outside but it looked great with everything you would want. Sat watching the storms - wonderful.

Perfect location, nice area...
Great! Very nice bungalow in a very nice area. We went there with 4 adults and 4 children. Good to start sightseeing tours around Cornwall. Our children (6,7,10,10) loved the place, spending all day at the beach catching crabs. Amazing view - you only have to sit on the terrace. The house was well equipped and tidy, perfect for 8 people. Good to know: there are a lot of dogs at the beach

A lovely stay in a comfortable, cosy house
My family of 5 including two teenagers and our West Highland Terrier stayed here over the New Year period with another family of 4. The house was perfectly spacious enough with enough room to allow for changing sleeping arrangements for the children and was perfectly well equipped to cater for all of us and store enough food to last. There was a good washing machine and plenty of space to dry clothes and the conservatory was warm and a useful place to dry boots, coats etc. When we arrived, the house was spotlessly clean and all of us found the beds to be very comfortable. In order to reach the house you need to park a short walk away which is down a sandy path across a golf course. Although this can be a little tricky at the end if you have luggage or in the dark, it really wasn't a problem with everyone helping out. The views of the estuary and the beach from the house are lovely, especially on a cold, cloudy morning, drinking a cup of tea and the beach is literally a few steps down from the house which was perfect for a long morning walk. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend and would absolutely love to return.

Perfect location, beautiful home
We were looking for somewhere to stay for two families: 2 mums, 2 dads, 1 grandmother, 3 teenagers, 1 toddler and 1 spaniel near the beach and the Beach Bungalow was perfect. It is so difficult to tell from photos on a website what a place is like but we found the property even better than the photos show. It really feels like your own home - Nicola has done a fantastic job decorating the house and it is in the most beautiful location.
We came down for our wedding which was mid-week and Nicola was extremely helpful beforehand recommending places for the reception and even her hairdresser who was brilliant. We also celebrated grandmother's birthday, dad's 50th and the only complaint was that it was too short.
If your ideal holiday is to be with family and friends in a really attractive, comfortable house practically on the beach (which is beautiful and clean) and you enjoy walking and relaxing then this is the place for you. We will definitely come back! Thank you.

far west recreation
As we arrived in the dark we were dependent on a description for the last some hundred yards by telephone-a little adventure we enjoyed but a precise description in advance would be nice.
The beach Bungalow is a very well equiped nice holiday-home even in autumn.
As we were lucky with the weather we spend some beautyfull hours at the beach which is right beneath the terrace and invites to walks along the coast.
A lovely time is the sunrise in the ocean-view conservatory with a cup of tea or coffee.
We enjoyed a beautyfull week in a lovely house at a wonderfull spot.
Despite the long way we had we are thinking about a second time there.
We were five persons including two teenagers.
Visiting Trebah gardens, lands end and the impressive waves at the rocks at pendeen lighthouse, of course St.Yves and other places around time flew rapidly.
Nicola the owner is allways busy but very kind and helpfull which suited our needs to a hundred percent.

Thumbs down - Terribly disappointing
An unpleasant experience for the very high price we paid. Price seems based on assumption of sleeping 10 - we were 4. The house is not worth the money in our opinion which is based on our 2 previous rentals in historic St. Ives.
-Walk from the car to bungalow is 300 meters long and used by many people who don't clean up after their dogs. Path is pitch black at night. Make sure to googlemap it.
- Property is cute at first glance and on website pics, but needs a fresh coat of paint. Heavy wear and tear. Owner's pictures are over-exposed making things look white which are not - ex: kitchen is actually yellow/cream not white.
- The bathrooms have moisture/humidity stains
- The house has an odd odor in the bedrooms. Previous guest (according to the cleaning lady) had tried to cover that odor up with 2 air fresheners. Upon arrival the house smelled like synthetic perfumes which was very unpleasant. Also intensely perfumed fabric softener on the sheets. One can only assume to help cover up the mildewy humid smell in the back bedrooms. Once the air freshener scent started to fade and the owner had provided us with sheets that didn't smell as much like synthetic perfumes, we started to smell the baseline mildew smell. If you open the windows in the bedrooms you get lots of gnats, spiders and even mosquitoes. No insect screens.
- When we arrived we found the previous guests hairs on the floor and in our beds - The mattresses seem to be the lowest end IKEA mattresses available and are in terrible shape. On lower bunk bed one you can feel every spring. The upper mattress has a body impression in it. The linens and pillows are also all of mediocre quality and not professionally laundered.
- The non-stick pans were scratched up beyond the point of safety. The few stainless steel ones had dried up chunks of food on them. - The kitchen counter is tiny and cluttered.
- The 4th bedroom is actually a small open sleep loft above the living room. During our stay the washing machine was kept there as well as the rack to dry clothing. This open loft area is above the living room and is essentially a landing after some steep steps with no door. Not appropriate for kids, or for anyone wishing privacy, and inconvenient if you are planning on using living room, or plan to watch TV, while others sleep up there.
- The actual beach was disappointing. Google Porthkidney Sands and you will find that this beach is listed as unsuitable for swimming due to dangerous currents.

Wow amazing property and views
We have just returned from Fisherman's Rest, what a gorgeous location with views to die for, the property is light and airy with a New England feel. My favorite treat was falling asleep and waking to the sound of the waves, so relaxing. The footpath down to the beach was certainly busier than expected with dog walkers and a trolley would certainly help with bags to and from the property, but all in all a wonderful retreat from the stresses of life. Cannot wait to return....

A Fab Spot... as long as you are happy walking!
This villa is in a great spot, facing east right next to the Hayle estuary. Its a short walk around the corner of the headland to reach a magnificent stretch of beach & dunes that at low tide allows you to almost reach St.Ives by sand!!!
Get to know your tides timetable, low tide the swimmable sea goes a l o o n g way out!
The property itself is clean & light with a beach/shaker vibe going on, although with modern TV & broadband. The beds are comfy & the kids loved the bunk bed!
Bear in mind the high-season price reflects the location more than the property itself & it backs right onto the local railway line, albeit quaint, which starts at 7 ish so might intrude on a sleep in! Additionally you have to park 200 odd yards away walking through a golf course to reach the property - suggestion, pack very minimally in rucksacks OR the owners could provide a 2 wheeled trolley of sorts... nudge nudge ;-)
The same path is used heavily by dogwalkers and other visitors to the beach who do have a minor view into the property, so its not as remote as it might look!
p.s. if kiteboarding is your bag this seems to be one of the hotspots!

Great location.
The walk from the car park is worth the effort for a unique beachside location - although wouldn't be ideal for those not fit enough to carry suitcases etc two or three hundred yards (uphill on the way home).
The house is very pleasant and well furnished and equipped. Compact and perhaps a bit short of storage space (especially in the kitchen) for nine people.

The Beach Bungalow a Perfect Place by the Sea
Right on the beach, a perfect terrace for relaxing and watching the world go by... and a super comfortable living space. What more could you want?
We had a perfect week helped by a lovely dose of fantastic Cornish summer sunshine.
Molly the dog thought she had died and gone to heaven (her idea being miles of her own beach to play on!)
We would all recommend staying at The Beach Bungalow

Our June Holiday in Lelant
Enjoyed a wonderfull week in early June at this excellent property. The easy access through the back gate to the lovely beach meant that that our children (aged 2 and 4) spent every day making sandcastles, shell collecting and generally having a great time. The house itself was faultless - so much so that, unusually for us, we spent some days just relaxing on the balcony and taking in the sea views. When we did venture out we found the location meant easy acces to many other desireable locations such as St Ives and Carbis Bay. Will be returning, sooner rather than later.

Heaven
This place is heaven. You just need to look out of the window across the wide expanse of beach and sea to relax - lovely interior, great stove to take away the chill in the evening and great for hot or rainy days with internet acess and good tv/DVD. The kids were happy to just potter about. Fantastic location so near to St Ives. We loved the feel of the place and will be returning next year.

Beautiful
We had a blissful week here late October with a 6 year old and a 2 year old. Recently renovated, very well appointed bungalow on picturesque, quiet sandy beach with boats chugging past, seals, swans, cubby house and easy access to St.Ives itself and local attractions. Delightful and highly recommended.

Absolutely Stunning
We stayed at the Beach Bungalow this summer with family and friends and had an amazing time. The location was perfect, right on the beach, so exactly what was needed for the kids to pop down for sand castle building, paddling in the sea and taking the dog for regular walks along Carbis Bay. Having the beach on your doorstep also meant that your days were not spent travelling and getting five kids and dog mobile every morning. Saying that we did make frequent trips to St Ives, on the costal train and Truro/Penzance for the local farmers markets.
The bungalow itself was spectcular, the facilites were more than what was required for two families and the veiws across the harbour were stunning. At times it felt like we were in Cote d'Azure not North Cornwall. We had planned to visit a few restaurants during our stay but eating at "home" was so much fun and totally relaxing we never did.
The worst thing about our stay was that it was only for a week. We all had a wonderful time and will definately be going back next year.
