"The property was beautiful with lots of things to do and restaurant choices; however, it all comes with a hefty price tag. Something I was not prepared for was the nightly charge for parking (self-parking and/or valet) and the hike from the parking lot carrying all of my luggage to the front doors. In hot, humid San Antonio, I was gassed before we even checked in. We attended a wedding on the hotel property and were thankful for the complimentary shuttle service to the venue. We also enjoyed the pool and hut tub in the evening. Having stayed at several all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and Jamaica, La Cantera had a similar vibe but was definitely NOT all-inclusive. Everything costed extra on top of the basic room price. Saying that, I would stay here again for a special occasion, but if I need a simple overnight stay, there are definitely more affordable hotels."
