What a stunning setting for a castle! Well worth a visit (the hotel right next door is very charming too!)

Mespelbrunn Castle is a late-medieval/early-Renaissance moated castle on the territory of the town of Mespelbrunn, between Frankfurt and Würzburg, built in a tributary valley of the Elsava valley, within the Spessart forest. It is a popular tourist attraction and has become a famous Spessart landmark.

"What caught our eye about this listing was the sort of 70’s vibe it had. So cute! The hosts were very accommodating and they provided us with plenty of privacy. This listing has so much space, especially for two people. We did wish there were blinds or more drapery in the bedroom window, which is in front, for a bit more privacy for dressing. "I had a wonderful stay at this Inn. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and extremely professional. They made the check-in process smooth and were always ready to assist with a smile. The hotel was exceptionally clean, including the lobby, hallways, and my room. My room was spotless, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The bed was cozy, the bathroom was sparkling clean, and everything felt fresh and organized. I also appreciated the peaceful atmosphere. It was a relaxing environment, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The staff’s friendliness and attention to detail truly made a difference in my experience. "Absolutely wonderful hotel and staff. When we arrived, the staff greeted us with the warmest welcome. We where able to check in almost 3 hours early which was fantastic given we had been travelling since 2am that morning. The rooms where spotless and there was plenty room to relax. The staff where amazing and always went above and beyond. A massive shout out to Jackie and Jovana. These ladies where fantastic, they always welcomed you with a smile and nothing was ever to much trouble. These two women never stopped working yet all the time made it feel like you where apart of there extended family. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area. "

"Upon arrival the staff was kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. The hotel was easy to find and parking was a breeze (note: there is a charge for parking). The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent both for European and US standards. But I want to repeat that the staff was the best. They were so considerate of families and always willing to answer our questions with a smile on their faces. "
