"The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of South Beach, which is by far its strongest asset. You can walk almost anywhere, and for the price, the location is hard to beat.
That said, the service and amenities fall short of what I would expect from a true 5-star property. Beach service feels overpriced, with umbrellas costing $38 and coconuts reaching an astonishing $21 each. While the pool staff are friendly and attentive, simple requests often take far too long, including something as basic as bringing a check.
Housekeeping and room service also need improvement. The in-room coffee and tea station was rarely replenished properly, and it often took multiple calls just to receive missing items like cups, sugar, or stirring sticks. Instead of bringing everything at once, staff would frequently forget part of the request.
The rooms could use some updates as well. The hair dryer and iron feel outdated, and unfortunately the iron damaged one of my shirts during my stay.
Overall, Loews offers a fantastic South Beach location and decent value, but the service inconsistencies and aging room amenities keep it from being a true luxury experience. I would rate it as a solid 4-star hotel rather than a 5-star property."
