"Great spot with modern architecture and updated amenities. Wonderful breakfast buffet — a bunch of continental and American/English style choices. Beds comfortable, bathroom stylish with a fantastic shower. Comfy lounge/bar area. Would stay again if back in these parts"

"Igloo was a really cool unique experience. What stood out was the location and the size of the washroom. It was much bigger than I expected. Very clean. I think the only feedback I have is that it would be nice to have a cover for the roof. No cover on the roof sounds great for Aurora but during summers - the sun sets at 12 am and rises at 3 am. So there is no blackout sky. Early in the morning; the sun comes directly into the room and it gets very annoying because there is no way to avoid it. The room also gets very hot because of this. But that being said it was a good stay and what made it special was we got to see the midnight sun with horses right next to our igloo."

"We stayed just for one night erupts to Vik. Nice property, close to Selfoss, reasonably priced for Iceland prices. Kitchen is well equipped. Many other facilities such as hot tub, on site cafe etc which we couldn’t use due to lack of time. Highly recommended for visiting National park, Geysir and Gullfoss waterfalls."

"The property was new and modern. Reasons for 4 rather than 5 stars: 1) directions on the location online were not accurate. Once on site, when we finally figured out there as no sign indicating that the private rudimentary entrance was for that property. A simple signage would have helped a lot. 2) no instructions on how to use brand new induction cooktop 3) no court and blocking the su. In the kitchen which was also sleeping room . All things I’m sharing as they can easily be addressed and this becomes a 5 star experience"

"I stay at the Eldhestar whenever it is available. Being a photographer, I travel to Iceland a lot (19 times in the last three years). This hotel has the most bang for your buck. Great rooms, nice people, and you get to say hello to the horses each morning on your way out. Near the Golden Circle, Reykjavík, the south coast, and even a day trip to Jökulsárlón is easily doable. I always come back to Eldhestar, and will continue to do so."
