Lovely little community with a cafe and a shop. Spacious rooms. Great communal kitchen facilities. Walking trails. Would definitely recommend Close to some main attractions
Very helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. Clean room. We didn’t spend too much time here but enjoyed the stay.
Things a little different: very quiet. Buildings ask to take off shoes before entering inside. Bathroom can get quiet wet after shower (it’s sort of open concept)
There’s nothing there.
None of the property details are accurate.
The water stinks of sulfur.
There’s a common kitchen but if you think there’s breakfast and don’t bring groceries you have nothing.
All the reviews are fake as they show things that don’t exist.
Except for the water it could be a good choice for a group as there’s a common area with a kitchen and I think 8 or 10 bedrooms in each building.
Completely misrepresented online.
I liked the historical aspect of the place. However, they shouldn't charge that much for a room without a bathroom. We had to share a bathroom with 9 other rooms and it wasn't specified in the ad. I'd rather donate some money for the cause than the accomodation. I also got multiple spider bites after staying at the place. It wasn't worth for the money I spent. I do think the staff were very nice and helpful.
Beautiful village with multiple buildings and some nice walking trails. We stay in 1 room with 2 bedrooms connected by a little kitchen and a bathroom in between.
Room is clean and comfortable. Kitchen has basic utensils and plates, 1 small pot but no other cooking condiments or supplies. In each building, there is a full kitchen and a common area to hang out but we didn't use this amenity.
Breakfast had hard boiled eggs, ham, cheese, bread, yogurt, cereal, fruits, coffee and milk.
Check in and check out was easy. Location is convenient near the golden circle. We enjoyed our 1 night stay there.
This was a hidden wonder guesthouse located near about 7 Km off of Highway 35, which forms part of the Golden Circle trip. This location is about a 25 minute drive north of Selfoss and close to all the Golden Circle sites if you have a rental car. I do not believe there is any public transportation options here.
We stayed two nights. Everything was very clean and the guesthouse had a huge kitchen, large sunroom for guests and a second lounge room with a TV, which we enjoyed. The internet access was great.
The kitchen was well supplied and they had a large drip coffee machine and free coffee grounds. I need to use a paper towel for a filter. A large refrigerator allowed us to keep breakfast supplies there and our beer cold.
There are about 10 guest rooms and one shared bathroom. There were about 4 guest rooms in use the two nights we were there and access to the shared bathroom was a bit difficult at times. This was a downside. If all of the guestrooms had been full, this would have been a much bigger problems. The guest rooms were also quite small, but very clean.
This is a good location and good value if you have a rental car or are biking the Golden Circle.

Disliked: Staff & service
We rented a 2 bedroom apartment that met the needs of our family. However the check in process is a bit strange as they just leave you the key in the door. We got there and there was no key in the door and the door was locked. After frw attempts to figure out if we are in the right place and have the proper room number, we knocked on the door and found other people in the apartment. They excused themselves by saying they made a mistake related to the room number and left and moved to a different room. The rooms and premises were nice. A bit noisy in the morning when the other guests left. The breakfast was basic,
Nice
Enough Space. Nice Rain-Shower ans fluffy beds. My Friends and I enjoyed our visit in our Appartement :) especially the chill-area (=Couch)
Breakfast was nice and nearby on the area

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Comfortable but the shover / toilet was in quite bad condition.
Very deceiving pictures. Rooms are tiny, one shower per around 5-6 rooms, so in the morning it is long wait for shower. For one night it is bearable but would not recommend to stay longer.
Very unique place to stay. Room was very comfortable, got amazing sleep. It was difficult to tell from the website what this was. We stayed in one guesthouse that was part of a large complex of many places to stay. We cooked in the guesthouse so didn’t try the food. There was a small grocery area with enough to throw together a meal if needed. Hard to tell what food the small groups had access to. No information listed in guesthouse regarding food access or hours of cafe.
Check in was a problem. The managers said emails with instructions were not properly forwarded by Hotels.com. Quite a queue for the shared bath in the morning. One bathroom had a drain problem. Beautiful setting. Reasonably new property. Pretty spread out.
Beautiful place. Very clean and spacious accommodations on a very attractive campus. Unfortunately, there was never anyone around to talk to, or to get more information or even literature on what the place is all about. For a community-living situation, it seems like it would be helpful to have someone around to welcome people or to explain what’s what. There weren’t even any human beings present at the breakfast (which was a nice breakfast). I’d like to know more about the place to maybe visit again or get involved in the future, but I suppose I’ll just have to find some information on the internet.
This place has a real church camp/cult vibe. Our room smelled like animal urine when we arrived and no amount of airing out changed it. There is no one to talk to about it, so we just went with is because it is in the middle of nowhere. There is no restaurants or groceries near, so stock up in advance. There was some sort of alarm in the middle of the night in one of the other buildings. Then when one of our group tried to use the shower, the drain didn’t work, perhaps explaining the bad smell.
All in all, i wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend
