Fantastic family stay
We had a short break at Stoke Park and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is a very special place and the grounds are fantastic. A highlight was the swimming pool which was very warm, we'll maintained and beautiful with lots of natural light and a big fish tank at the back. The gardens are beautiful and the playground was of very high quality and provided great entertainment for the kids (7 & 3). David at reception was extremely friendly and helpful. We were only sorry that the great hall was closed for renovations and very sorry to hear that the hotel will close for 2 years, otherwise we would have been back soon.

Very relaxing and comfortable
We went to Stoke Park to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. They made us feel special by leaving us a card in our room and also marking it at dinner too. The room was comfy and spacious as well as being sanitised due to the Covid pandemic. They took the safety or guest very seriously. All the staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Wonderful stay
We found Stoke Park to be an amazing experience. We found it similar to the ritz in London for style inside the restaurant areas but the rooms were sleek, comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say is the maintenance is looking a little tired but with an estate of that size, things are need touching up constantly so overall I think they do really well. The amount of facilities is excellent and the grounds are beautifully maintained.

Terrible bed sheets , from a hotel like that you expect to have amazing bedding but unfortunately sheets were terrible and we couldnt sleep all night . Bedding suppose to warm you up not like a sheet of plastic. Terrible terrible . Breakfast was rubbish too , so if you are staying there. Try to skip breakfast. In the other hand staff were amazing , super polite and comforting , amazing is the word. We also dined at Humphrey restaurant for dinner , wowwww what an amazing place , great food , I dont mind driving an hour just to have their food .

Everything was ok except for San Marco's 'restaurant'. The service and decor does not deserve the ridiculous prices of the meals. Meals here should not cost the same as The Orangery.

Not to waffle, basically this 5 star is pretty average. Breakfast could not be more basic if you’re expecting something impressive. The setting for the breakfast and main restaurant is faded grandeur. The new pavillion hotel is fresher but the Italian restaurant has the decoration of a Nuffield gym cafe. Food pretty average. The staff are nice but if you’re comparing this to a more modern golf resort like the Grove in Watford, there’s literally no competition in facilities and modernity.

It’s 2019. No nespresso machine in the room despite the fact you could buy three for the price of a one night stay. Seemed very over priced for what it was but that staff were delightful. I found the place to be really average compared to other similarly priced hotels.

The facility and grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent, there is a spa, tennis courts, golf courses, a pool and a children's play area. The main building is very old and lovely and beautifully maintained. Staff is excellent. And it is located a 20-25 minute cab ride from Heathrow Airport.

Average accommodation at 5* prices
Attended a wedding and paid around £375 per night exclusive of breakfast. Initially, we were being booked into the Pavilion section of the hotel which was utterly disappointing from the receptions point of view. It provides nothing more than a leisure center/ Health club feel and you can't help feeling underwhelmed after passing the mansion house. We were reassigned to the mansion house after conveying our dissatisfaction. This was just ok. In my opinion, the rooms and hotel are tired and don't compare to central London properties of the same room rate. The property has a small rickety lift which isn't suitable for more than one person with luggage at a time and is faulty. The lift is the type that makes use of folding concertina type doors. There is a safety concern with this as the lift should NOT move while the inner door isn't making contact, the lift at Stoke Park still moves even with this inner door open. Very dangerous and should be looked at. We were given the William and Mary room on the 2nd floor which as 2 1/2 flights of stairs to reach it. The room was comfortable with a nice view of the putting green at the front of the property.

I am sorry to hear that the first room allocated to you on arrival in the Pavilion was not to your liking, however pleased to see that the you were happy with the William and Mary in the Mansion. In reference to your comments about our lift, we acknowledge this and thank you for sharing your concerns. Being a grade 1 listed building we are very limited to what we can and cannot do, however I am very pleased to say that we never had any issues with this in the past. Beautiful London country property with exquisite mansion hotel, 27 holes of golf, indoor and outdoor gras and clay tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs, three restaurants, and small bar. I’m not sure they like Expedia bookings as we were given the tiniest of their classic rooms in what surely was the servants quarters floor despite our staying here four nights. Close to Windsor and Eton.

Lovely long weekend
Very enjoyable long weekend at Stoke Park. Food was excellent as was the service except for the final Breakfast which was rather shambolic and out of sync with the exceptional service at every other meal. The treatments at the Spa were excellent too and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

Nice hotel close to slough for decent restaurants but there isn’t much to do in the hotel apart from swimming or golfing. There is a small play area for kids and that’s about it. The walking trails Is basically non existent, every trail is sign posted to say it’s in golf area and there is risk of flying balls so not to go. Also the spa treatments needed booking in advance which we didn’t know,they were booked three weeks advance so we basically just stayed in room most of the time.

Grand property well maintained but a little tired!
The Hotel is a grand old property and is well maintained but signs of wear everywhere! Flaking paint on the sash windows, creaking wobbly wooden floorboards under the carpet, flaking grout between the marble tiles in bathroom, knocks on room furniture that seen better days and a smell of an old place around the property. The staff are excellent and put up a pomp befitting the history of the property but the owners need to spend some money on refreshing it to justify the £380/day price without breakfast!

From start to finish the hotel staff really looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is everything you would expect from a 5* hotel and I will definitely be returning for another special occasion. We played golf on day one and the course and facilities were top class. We also learned that holes 17 and 18 featured in the James Bond Gold Finger movie. We stayed in an Executive Mansion Room with Balcony and enjoyed drinking our morning coffee with views over the course so this was a worthwhile extra. We had dinner in the Orangery and the food was excellent. We spent the day two in spa relaxing in the pool and outdoor Jacuzzi. I am looking forward to my next stay already!

If you are looking for a classic old English manor with outstanding facilities and attentive staff, this is a good bet. Pricey for a long stay, but pampered by the staff makes it special. The golf professional David made arrangements for play and everything went perfectly. We will return

I would avoid the San Marco restaurant - it doesn’t really fit very well with the proposed look of the rest of the hotel. Seems like a drive in almost. The pizzas are garbage to say the least. Stoke park has two buildings so be careful where you are booking your room. One building is the Mansion ( the posh one) and the other is Pavillion (which is good if you are enjoying the spa facilities). It can be odd when you arrive, I had absolutely no clue where to go, this spoiled the experience greatly. I would urge management to explain this clearly and greet customers arriving by car more promptly as a 5 stars requires. It was very hot outside the swimming pool - I would have expected a waiter going around at times with some fruit or water. Poor attention. I was there outside the swimming pool for 4 hours, I have not seen one staff ever. No 5 stars. We had drinks in the orangery we waited for coffee that never arrived, one table had 6 waiters serving it which was fun to see. Instead our tables were not even cleaned upon arrival. Very poor. Outside the orangery we asked for the characteristics of a specific red wine. The waiter had absolutely no clue what was being offered in the menu. Not 5 star! Be mindful of the sorriunding .... lots of golfers throwing balls around and you may get one on your head. One thing I have to say though, the gardener attending the estate must be given a big bonus! So tidy!

Room and facilities were excellent. Housekeeping service similarly was excellent. Service and quality of food and beverage was very poor. Food served was bordering on inedible and service was very lacking ....... the pinnacle of which was the serving of a fully melted bowl of ice cream with a wafer floating in the middle of it to my daughter. Certainly not 5 star service. Come for the wonderful facilities and room, but avoid the restaurants if at all possible.
