The owners are not in agreement with this Review. The group of 3 men checked out with no mention that they had broken the Smoke alarm in the bedroom. There was no report that the Smoke alarm was malfunctioning or any courtesy note or message to inform or apologise for damaging property during their stay or the day of checkout or even the day after that. The owners confrontingly found the wires dangling from the ceiling in the bedroom after they left. With no communication from the men, the owners immediately suspected they had intentionally tried to disable the Smoke alarm which led to it being broken. The owners consider themselves to be very reasonable people. The owner felt it reasonable to meet halfway and pass on the cost of replacing the Smoke alarm minus labour of installing. The owners are not required to produce licensing paperwork to a guest. The Smoke alarm was installed by a licensed electrician within the last 12 months and has a 10 year warranty. Unfortunately, the warranty was void when they broke it, and therefore the Smoke alarm could not be sent away to the manufacturer to validate their claim that it was faulty. It wasn't so much that they broke it but they failed to inform the owner in a courteous and timely manner. Two days later, one of the men was enquiring in relation to something he may have left at the property which also mentioned that he was an electrician and could replace the Smoke alarm. The owners had already sort expertise on the matter and been advised that the Smoke alarm was broken so they had already replaced the Smoke alarm in time for the arrival of the next guests. The confusing part came when the Non Smoking man who made the booking refused to pay for the cost of the broken Smoke alarm. We will never know if there was any truth in the mens' claim that the Smoke alarm was faulty because they didn't inform the owner in a timely and courteous way, they didn't report any malfunction, and they broke the alarm and just left leaving the wires dangling from the ceiling. All we know is that Smoke alarms are designed sensitive to detect traces of smoke, and 2 of the 3 men were smokers. The Pool table cube that they had used to penetrate the alarm had left black scrape marks on the ceiling and the cube was left in this room on their departure. The owner is on site and was awake at the time "midnight" when they claimed it rang so would have been in a position to assist with a high ladder if there was a case where the alarm was faulty. The men did not seek assistance. The men did do the wrong thing by the owner and the man who wrote the Review has sort revenge by rubbishing the owner. The owner felt it reasonable to meet halfway and pass on the cost of replacing the Smoke alarm minus labour of installing. To resolve the matter, and give the benefit of the doubt, the owners covered the cost of replacing the broken smoke alarm themselves.

In regards, to the fridge not being plugged in in the Pool House, we don't claim in our advertising to provide a fridge in this area as we don't want people using a second big fridge. In no 2 Bedroom accommodation will you be provided with 2 large fridges! The photos clearly depict what beds are in each room. Sorry to hear that our amazing value Guest House didn't arrive at your expectations.
