"Overall, my stay had a lot of positives. The building itself is beautiful and full of character. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly. My room was large, spacious, and nicely renovated. Although the room was in the basement, it really didn’t feel like it because there were several large, low windows that brought in lots of natural light.
Unfortunately, there were some issues with the room. As soon as I arrived, I noticed a strong smell of sweat. When I looked at the bedding, every pillowcase and the sheets had dog hair on them. It made me question whether the sheets had been changed, or if they had been washed with with excessive dog hair and a lot of it remained stuck to the bedding. There were also visible stains on the sheets. In addition, the actual pillows themselves seemed like they needed to be washed because they had an unpleasant sweat odour. Because of this, I ended up sleeping in my clothes on top of the bed. I'm also not the type of person to call the front desk and cause a scene over issues, while I was definitely unhappy with the condition of the bedding, I tend to just make do with what I’m given and carry on.
That said, this hotel really does have a lot going for it. With more attention to housekeeping details, this place could easily be an excellent stay. The hotel should also reconsider allowing pets in their establishment. It truly feels like a hotel with a lot of potential, and just needs some fine-tuning."
"Nice room with a comfy bed. They welcomed my two Bengal kittens…. I love when places allow pets! The world is changing!… and pet owners want to travel!! Jesus…. (Sorry!… can’t remember the spelling of the rest of his name… but the lovely front desk attendant from Nigeria was AWESOME!! Give that young man a raise!! So personable and genuine. "
