Friendly staff, beautiful room, beautiful onsen, and dinner and breakfast was excellent. We stayed with two teenage daughter and jus had an amazing 2 day stay. Also great walks on the area

The guesthouse was absolutely gorgeous and in a stunning part of Japan. We rented a car in Matsumoto and used the guesthouse as a base for visiting Kamikochi. The hotel is bright and cheery. The rooms are a generous size. The futons comfortable. Perhaps the best thing of all was the private onsen. The dining options around are a little limited- very few are open at night. There are more soba lunch options but we were out walking. We went to both Abbey Road and Springbank which were fine.

A beautiful place to stay.

We booked the room with private onsen for three nights and that's so relaxing. The 9 course dinners (Japanese cuisine) (half board) were superb and have certainly exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and quantity. Breakfasts are different every morning too. The cost may be considered high but it's worth it. Not a lot of staff can speak English but should be able to get by. A fabulous traditional experience especially when you include half board and enjoy a Japanese dinner and breakfast. Everyone at the ryokan was very friendly and our group loved our stay.

I had high expectations that were exceeded. The multi course meal designed to reflect the flavours and food from the area was exceptional. The room itself was very impressive too with a comfy bed and hot bath prepared for check in. Staff were very friendly and accomodating also. The surrounding area is full of unique craft shops and interesting places. Definitely have a night here at least in your travels
