Summary:
Fun for the WHOLE family! This incredible cabin sleeps 16 comfortably, and is minutes from downtown Shaver and a quick drive to China Peak Ski Resort.
The Space:
Lazy Pines sits just below downtown Shaver Lake in the charming Sierra Pines community, only a few miles from the Lake. This modern log cabin offers six spacious bedrooms and four bathrooms, an entertainment-filled game room with a pool table, and an expansive deck perfect for barbecues. Inside, you’ll find a warm and inviting open-concept living space complete with a cozy fireplace and all the modern comforts you could want.

With regularly plowed roads, access is easy year-round.

Even though the roads are plowed, you will need tire chains in the winter.

Our family and friends and great time, plenty of bedrooms for everyone. Dishwasher was out of order which was a bit disappointing but overall we all had a great time! Kids loved the bunk beds!

Loved it!
Great location! House has all the amenities we needed. We loved the pool table and the cleanliness of the cabin. We will definitely be back!
Wonderful cabin, but could use some improvement in amenities.
This is a lovely, spacious and clean cabin in a great location. Great layout for large groups and very easy access to the town of Shaver Lake. The host was very responsive and available to help with questions and a few small issues we had. I'd definitely book this cabin again and we had a great stay!
Snowed on the second day and it was an awesome experience playing in the snow while it was snowing.

Lousy management
Wet carpets in 2 bedrooms, smoke detector needed batteries, it kept beeping, very annoying. No help from management. Discount should have been offered.

Disappointing
House was spacious and nicely decorated but definitely in need of some maintenance. It was surface clean but definitely in need of a proper deep clean. The house smelled strongly of febreeze and the sofa, beds and pillows all smelled like they had been doused in Febreze,. It was overpowering. The fridge didn’t have a working light and the ice maker did not work. There were no ice trays provided. If we had have known, we would’ve brought ice.
The heater on the bottom floor beeped every few minutes all night long. Property management was attentive when we complained and sent out a handyman. Apparently the filters were filthy and needed to be cleaned.
We went to use the grill on our first night only to discover that it was covered in old food and grease. It was very unsanitary and unusable.
This could be a nice rental with some better maintenance. But for the price, I would not consider staying here again.

Rough around the edges.
Property looked clean, stylish and well kept in the listing but was not particularly clean and had a surprising amount of wear and tear. The light in the fridge did not work, the ice maker did not work and there were no ice trays provided. The tea kettle was broken and did not close. All of the upholstery had been sprayed heavily with febreze and it was VERY overpowering. It left the feeling of uncleanliness being masked with air freshener. Even the bed linens smelled of air freshener. We intended to BBQ but the grill was extremely unsanitary. It was covered in grease and bits of old food. It clearly has not been cleaned in some time. The heater in the downstairs area beeped every few minutes and all night on our first night making it quite difficult to sleep. The alarm indicated that the filters needed to be changed. Property management was very responsive and sent a handyman to fix it. He discovered that the filters had not been changed in a long time and were filthy. There were wet sheets in the washing machine that had been left and damp sheets in the dryer. This property is fine but for the price, it should be cleaner better maintained.
Horrible Experience both Customer Service and Property
We recently stayed at Lazy Pines Lodge in Shaver Lake from July 2–5 and were extremely disappointed with our experience. From the moment we walked in, the home did not appear clean—there was trash in several rooms, only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, no dish soap, no trash bags, and a general lack of basic kitchen essentials like foil or seasonings. The garage refrigerator was broken, which forced us to store food in ice chests. One of our children is Type 1 diabetic, and his medication had to be moved from the broken fridge, which also had ants inside. There were no extra towels or sheets, and the dryer didn’t work. The washer had wet towels and sheets left inside, making the garage smell like mildew. The return air vent was filthy—we had to replace the filter ourselves just to get the fan running better. In the primary bedroom, the cold water in one sink didn’t work because the faucet was broken. There were also spider webs and spiders throughout the downstairs. When we reached out to the management company (Guest Equity), we were advised to hang dry towels and told a handyman would stop by. We specifically requested that he come when we were home, but he entered without our knowledge while our personal belongings were there—completely unacceptable. For the amount charged (including a hefty cleaning fee), this property fell far below expectations. We were on a family vacation and expected a clean, well-maintained home with
