"The Elegant Desert Camp has beautiful grounds, including an amazingly isolated feeling desert camp. However, in the summer months, the heat in these luxurious tents is almost unbearable (it easily exceeds 40C/104F during the day) and there are no fans, let alone air conditioners. "We received a very friendly welcome! We loved the fact that the gemsbok walked passed the tent without fear, the 8 tents were spaced just far enough apart at the foot of the ancient dunes, the well-planned tent, huge bathroom and veranda with kitchen. Beautiful lounge and pool area at the lodge, where wifi is available. We were blessed with overnight rain. What a lovely experience!"

"This is a very beautiful property, an actual castle, no 3! There were the most spectacular sunrises & sunsets, staff were wonderful. The only issue we had was there was no AC at night & the rooms were very hot & with animals nearby we didn’t feel safe opening windows (no screens)…. we couldn’t sleep either night we were there. "

The accommodation is clean but the external canvas over the small kitchen area is in need of replacement.
