The price that I paid did not reflect the Arran. It was warm, very clean and the breakfast was unbelievable - again excellent, well cooked and a lot of it as well as well presented on the plate.
What really made this stay was Paul, the manager. He went beyond the call of duty to make my stay one of the best that I have experienced anywhere in the country. A sure asset to the company.
One aspect that I was not happy with and consider perhaps illegal was that I was asked for credit card details as a guarantee, with the tariff to be paid in local currency on arrival at the Arran. When I arrived at the Arran and offered to pay cash, Paul was put in the difficult position of telling me that the owner had taken the money from my card THE NIGHT BEFORE ! Despite it being on the paperwork that I had downloaded. This I consider is illegal, but as it wasn't Paul's fault, I decided to sort this out at a later date - hence this report. I am interested in your comments on this matter, as I hoped to use the Arran again.
The above is my only criticism but it did leave an element of distrust but not with Paul, may I add.
