Our townhouse is the south side of a two unit building known as the Cunningham House. Originally, the house was built in 1810 by Henry Cunningham, the first pastor of the Second African Baptist Church,. Shortly after it's construction, Cunningham House became a girls orphanage until 1838.
The home underwent a renovation bringing the features of the home into the 21st century. Step inside the residence and immediately notice the beautiful original hardwood floors, classic window trimming, and moldings. High ceilings with oversize windows pour light into every room and with 1,200 sq ft. the townhouse feels spacious and welcoming. The townhouse has amazing views of Greene Square from several windows.
In the living room enjoy a sofa and a comy chair along with a smart TV ready to watch your favorite shows. Stylish features create a relaxing and comfortable feel throughout, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day. Continue into the fully renovated eat-in kitchen with custom cabinets, quartz countertops, and new appliances which are accompanied by all the pots, pans, knives, and utensils you need to cook complete meals during your stay.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed and large walk-in closet. In the corner is an amazing window seat overlooking Greene Square. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed. The upstairs bathroom has a shower-tub combo. Outfitted with towels, body wash, and shampoo the bathroom has the basics you need for your stay.
Just off the kitchen is the laundry area with full size washer and dryer. Step out through the french doors in the kitchen and you find a semi-private courtyard paved with historic bricks.
Parking: There is plentiful paid street parking in front of and near the house. Parking is a breeze using the Park Savannah app or the kiosks located on the street. Parking generally costs $12 per day and costs are: Monday through Saturday 8 am to 8 pm - $1 per hour Sunday, Holidays and between 8 pm and 8 am - no charge
Please note: Please keep track of the street sweeping schedule to avoid a parking fine when parking on the street. There are signs posted on the side of the road with sweeping times. Simply move your vehicle to a street that is not getting swept that day to avoid a ticket.

ADDITIONAL NOTES: * You may access the entire townhouse with the exception of one locked storage closet. * There is a courtyard in the back that you can enjoy as well. It is semi-private because there is no fence separating it from the neighboring courtyard, but it cannot be accessed from the street. * The bedrooms and full bathroom are on the second floor. The stairs are steeper than modern standards. * We are in a residential neighborhood, convenient to the hustle and bustle of Savannah's popular tourist areas, but there will likely be some city noises. In addition, horse carriages and tour groups come past the house. * The townhouse has been updated, but it is over 200 years old so it has character like uneven wood floors and century-old windows. * No pets allowed. * No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property. * While we are child friendly, please note that our house is not child-proof. * The townhouse shares a common wall with the neighboring unit, so please be respectful of your neighbors. * Absolutely no parties.

Great location, really cool history and great open space. The tours that came by were frequent and the bathroom was very small but overall we very much enjoyed our stay.
Host was very responsive and reached out a few times. We loved the location, bed was comfortable, nice to have the small patio although it was too cold to be enjoy. Kitchen was very nice, although we never used it. Nice size family room -great chaise lounge on sofa. Perfect for 2 people-not sure we would have been comfortable with additional guests as the bath is quite small and a door was blocked open connecting 2nd bedroom to main bedroom.
The house was exactly as described. It was perfect for three adults. Only one bathroom but it worked out for us. I would definitely stay here again. It's walking distance to most, if not all things.
This duplex is all that was described and a great place to stay. The location is on one of the squares and just a few blocks from the river. It is also just a block from Broughton Street, which is one of the main streets for shopping and various restaurants. It is also very easy to access the roads to Tybee Island and the Wormlands plantation park and other points west.Although it is an historic house and in the midst of the historic area, it is not in the midst of the squares and homes a little further south in the city. Given that the historic districts are only about 2.5miles in length and the city is very walkable and also has trolleys and lots of other means of transportation if you get tired, this is not a problem.
The owner communication is great. Renting was super easy and not a drawn out process like some places.
This property location is perfect. My friends and I were able to walk to everything. We felt safe in the neighborhood, even when we walked back at night. There was plenty of parking and we parked directly in front. But it is paid parking from 8am-8pm so we did set an alarm to wake up just before 8am to pay to avoid a ticket.
The home is very comfortable and decorated nicely. We only used a couple glasses and utensils, but they were clean and in good condition.
The stairs inside the home are steeper than the standard, but normal in an 1800s home. We were completely fine with them, but definitely something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues, especially since the bathroom is upstairs.
The bedrooms were comfortable. The master closet had plenty of hangers and hanging space for three women. There was some occasional car traffic noise, like a car stereo or the street sweeper. I’m a light sleeper so I brought earplugs, but one of my friends did not and was woken up a few times.
The only thing we thought was missing was vanity space in front of a mirror for your makeup, a hair dryer, curling iron, etc. for ease of getting ready. We didn’t watch any television so we would have probably swapped out a bedroom TV for a mirror.
Overall, the townhome was the perfect space for us and we would definitely recommend it!!
Home is in an ideal location, easy to walk to restaurants, river, historical locations, etc. Check-in was easy. Found a parking spot right next to the house and just paid on the city app to leave the car there for two days, as we walked everywhere. The only issues were that the bed in the primary bedroom was broken on one side and there was a significant leak one night from the ceiling in the same room. We messaged the host about both issues and he responded quickly, but could not get someone to fix either problem while we were there. My husband didn’t sleep well because of the extreme sagging of the bed. The leak was on the last night, and thankfully the water dripped just past the bed so we put some towels down to soak it up and it did not impact our sleep.
