Welcome to Kimono Cottage, apart of our cottage court community, The Village on the Bluff, completed in 2023. Nestled among just four charming cottages, Kimono Cottage is a true gem. Despite its cozy size, Kimono Cottage boasts an abundance of sun-drenched windows and a soaring vaulted ceiling, creating an airy and spacious atmosphere.

This delightful standalone cottage is thoughtfully equipped with all the essentials and boasts a captivating and playful interior decor that we're sure you'll adore just as much as we do! This cottage features all of the modern conveniences one could ask for - smart TV's, a full kitchen equipped with all essentials needed for home cooked meals, luxurious spa-like bathrooms, large closets and a plush bed.

Nestled amidst the serene coastal village of Thunderbolt, Georgia, Kimono Cottage is one of seven cottages in this peaceful enclave. You'll find yourself within easy walking distance of three exceptional restaurants and bars right from your cottage door. Moreover, our location offers convenient access to the scenic Intracoastal Waterway and the picturesque Wilmington River, just across the street.

Thunderbolt, at the heart of the Lowcountry, is a hidden gem. Situated along the Intracoastal Waterway on the outskirts of charming Savannah, Georgia, this town is a treasure trove of experiences. Explore the enchanting River Drive, savor the flavors of four locally-owned dining establishments, or embark on a kayaking adventure with our friendly local guides, who are also our neighbors.

The Village on the Bluff, a fresh and exciting development in Thunderbolt, spans half an acre of prime real estate. This idyllic village enclave is home to seven standalone cottages and a mixed-use building featuring two flats/condos and a ground-floor retail store.

Quiet and enjoyable

Place is cute, clean, comfortable, and has an awesome location. A short drive to everything you need. A porch for relaxing, a great bar/restaurant is steps away, the feel of a fishing town, and great communication.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Kimono cottage was so lovely. It was just enough space for my father and I for a quick beach weekend. The courtyard of cottages was adorable. The porch is a great place to drink your morning coffee and maybe even see an armadillo like we did! The only things we had a problem with was locking the door (turns out we were probably doing it wrong, LOL. Press and hold the top button for three seconds) and the shower head being too fine of a stream than our liking. Other than those two things, it was a great stay! 15 mins to Tybee and 8 mins to downtown Savannah. A lot of great mom and pop restaurants in the area too, such as Despositos. We had a delicious shrimp scampi and great company! Highly recommend!

A couple of things would make it even better—a clothes tree for hanging clothes and some hooks or another bar in the bathroom. A small problem was resolved quickly by maintenance. We visit Savannah on a regular basis and will use this Kimono Cottage if it is available.

Although we did have some hiccups while we stayed. when we checked in the AC unit was leaking and had been leaking all over the floor all over the TV all under the bed so we had to call someone and get them to come fix it. We took about an hour to clean up the whole place for further damage and we used our own bath towels for the water. , when trying to communicate to the office for more bath towels, or a refund of some sort for the cleaning up, there was no response they did offer a late check out but then took that offer back. I called and left messages to receive more bath towels no one ever responded also was charged an extra $33 for the reservation change when we already paid so I asked for a refund and never got a response back. We also did not stay the extra day that we bought, so I was asking for a refund then as well and still have yet to have a response so overall, the area and villages were nice but the communication wasn’t great

We felt very comfortable being here and the location was perfect for going to both downtown and to Tybee Island. Two things could have been added for our comfort: a Keurig machine (we travel with our own pods) and a wardrobe for hanging clothes. Finally, numbering the parking spots would make following instructions much easier. We never did get to park in our allotted spot, but it all worked out.

It’s within walking distance to Tubby’s Tankhouse, which gives you a distant free concert at night. The kitchen is small, but provides nice cookware and the basics. I enjoyed the local coffee and bath products provided. There’s no closet, but there was room for my suitcase on the chair. Bed was comfy. The weather was cold, but I would hang out on the porch in warm weather. So cute!

Nice quiet spot

We stayed for a week while work was being done at our house. This is a nice quiet location. The cottage was in excellent condition and met all of our needs. There are two good restaurants within walking distance, which is nice.
