  • Summary:

    Monthly stays only.

A historic 1886 second-floor Parlor apartment beside Crawford Square in Savannah's Historic District. Unit B. One bedroom with a queen bed, one bathroom with a walk-in shower and a washer and dryer, a full kitchen, a desk for working, a back porch and balcony, and a shared courtyard patio below.

Sleeps 2 guests. Self check-in with a smart lock. The apartment is up an exterior staircase, 15 steps from the sidewalk. Parking is metered street parking on East McDonough Street, the same as Unit A, first come, first served.

Forsyth Park is about a 15 minute walk and the Starland District is a short walk away. River Street and downtown are about a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute Uber.

    The Space:

This is a one bedroom apartment, Unit B, on the second floor of a historic multi-unit building, originally built in 1886. Original hardwood floors run through the apartment. You reach it by an exterior staircase from the sidewalk, 15 steps, then enter the building and take the left door. Another unit is above and will likely be occupied by other guests.

Entry: Just inside the front door of the building is a shared foyer with navy wainscoting and the original hardwood staircase. Your apartment door has a keyless smart lock.

Living room: A cognac leather sofa, a wood slat accent wall, an iron chandelier, a decorative fireplace with a 55 inch smart TV above the mantel, and a small bistro table for two by the tall windows. A desk with a lamp sits along one wall for anyone who needs to work.

Bedroom: A queen bed with an iron frame, a memory foam mattress and linens, a leather bench at the foot, nightstands with lamps, a decorative fireplace with a 55 inch smart TV, a louvered closet and plantation shutters. Extra pillows and blankets are provided.

Kitchen: A galley kitchen with white shaker cabinets, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, including a refrigerator and freezer, stove and oven, dishwasher and microwave. You will find a Keurig coffee maker with coffee and filters, a toaster, a kettle, pots and pans, dishes and silverware, wine glasses and a baking sheet. The back door opens to the courtyard.

Bathroom: One full bathroom with a dark beadboard accent wall, a round mirror, a granite vanity with matte black fixtures and a walk-in shower. Wall-mounted dispensers hold shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Towels and a hair dryer are provided.

Laundry: A full-size stacked washer and dryer, reached from the bathroom, with laundry detergent provided.

Comfort: Wifi, central air conditioning and heating, a ceiling fan and portable fans. An iron, hangers and a travel crib are provided.

Outdoors: A back porch and balcony off the living area, with stairs down to the shared courtyard patio. The patio has Adirondack style seating, brick pavers, a privacy fence and a shade tree.

    Guest Access:

Guests have the second floor apartment, the back porch and balcony, the shared courtyard and rear staircase, and the street parking in front of and behind the building on East McDonough Street, metered the same as Unit A. The front entrance and the back patio are shared with the other unit. The check-in guide in the Guest App has the details for getting in.

The building also houses other guests, so please keep noise down and treat the space and the neighbors with respect. Quiet hours are 8 PM to 8 AM. Pets are not allowed. Parties and events must be coordinated with us in advance, and breaking the house rules can end the reservation without a refund.

    The Neighborhood:

The apartment is in the heart of Savannah's Historic District, right beside Crawford Square, with Troup Square a short walk away and Forsyth Park about a 15 minute walk. The Starland District is a quick walk, and the river and the heart of downtown are about a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute Uber. A Kroger grocery store and many restaurants and cafes are within walking distance. You are close enough to walk to everything, and far enough removed to have some peace when you come home in the evening.

    Getting Around:

You can walk to most of the Historic District, downtown and the Starland District. Forsyth Park is about a 15 minute walk, and River Street is about a 20 minute walk. North Tybee Beach is about a 15 to 20 minute drive.

Ubers are easy to find, and a free shuttle runs anywhere in the Historic District from the head of Forsyth Park, about four blocks away.

Parking is metered street parking on East McDonough Street, in front of and behind the building, the same as Unit A. It is shared with residents, first come, first served, with no assigned spots. Meters run 8 AM to 8 PM, and parking is free all day on Sundays and from 8 PM to 8 AM on other days. Pay with the ParkSavannah app: open the app, enter the code on the parking spot, and pay. Watch for the posted street sweeping signs and move your car to the opposite side of the street when needed. A city parking pass is also available through the visitor center.

    Other Things to Note:

    Monthly stays only.

House rules in short: 2 guests maximum. Minimum age to book is 21. No pets (service animals are welcome under the ADA guidelines in the full house rules). Smoking is allowed outside only, in designated spots. Parties and events must be coordinated with us in advance. Quiet hours are 8 PM to 8 AM. Check-in is 4 PM and check-out is 10 AM.

The apartment is up 15 outdoor steps from the sidewalk. Exterior security cameras at the front porch and back porch point outward and are there only for security. The front entrance and back patio are shared, and noise is possible.

We spray for bugs every quarter, but you may still see palmetto bugs, wasps and other insects. Keeping windows and doors shut, eating only at the table and keeping trash in the trash can will help. Starter amounts of toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and laundry detergent are stocked.

    Interaction with Guests:

We live close by and are available day and night through the app or by phone.

Check-in is self check-in. Your codes and instructions are sent through the app by 3 PM on your arrival day, and we ask that you wait until the 4 PM check-in time to enter. Before you arrive you will complete a short check-in form and an ID verification in the Guest App. The check-in guide has step by step instructions for getting in.
