I am a woman who travels alone to visit my son in the area, and I feel very safe and comfortable in this hotel. I think this was my fourth or fifth stay. It has become something of a home away from home. I love the workspace and kitchen. Very happy here.

The location is amazing...walkable to PayPal Park, adjacent to the CalTrain station for easy trips to SF, DTSJ, and various Peninsula cities, very close to a Starbucks and indie bagel shop. We appreciated the clean room and being allowed to check in at 12:30 without an extra charge. However, the very old mattress was uncomfortable for my partner, whereas i had issues with the very loud HVAC unit in our room. There also wasn't much of a lobby/common area.

The property is located close to the Santa Clara Caltrain station and opposite to the Santa Clara university. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are a couple of cafe options next to the hotel and it is not too far from the San Jose airport. They have parking space as well.

Location was perfect for what I needed. Staff was very friendly. The mattress we slept on needs to be replaced but other than that we are very pleased with Sonesta.

If you are a long term stayer, it's pretty good value for the location. The front desk is usually very responsive and helpful except in the middle of the night sometimes. The rooms are nice. The amenities are okay but the location is top tier. You cannot have a better hotel location.

Plenty of parking. Rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. Kitchen was also nice and we were provided with everything we needed to be able to cook our meals for our entire stay. Conveniently located to shopping, Santa Clara University, and short 10 minute drive to Westfield Mall and Santana Row. Hotel is secure requiring key card or buzz in entry. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Our room was fine, nothing fancy but large and clean with refrigerator, microwave, etc. Our issue was that just as we were going to sleep, the smoke/co2 alarm started chirping, and the hotel had no solution for us other than to change rooms. We had to pack up everything and change floors/rooms. Further, we were using the pull out bed, so we had to set that up (again), and all the old bedding was still on the bed. We were so tired, we took off the old /dirty bedding, piled it in the corner, remade the bed with fresh bedding and went to sleep.

Needs Cleaning

The front desk was friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is not the cleanest. I observed bags of garbage in the first floor hall. There’s an overall odor…maybe of smoke. The first floor room smelled heavily of smoke, so I requested another and was transferred to a third floor room, which was much better, but there was still a bit of that smell. I just didn’t trust that my room had actually been sterilized. Other than that, the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet. Everything worked; nothing was broken. I felt safe with the indoor halls/doors and locks. I appreciated that there was an elevator between floors. The front desk attendant was super friendly.
